Just think, before the season started the odds of them winning the Cup was 500-1. You know people in Vegas put some money down on them to win. Some rich guys probably put down a few grand just for kicks.

Seriously...this Vegas team is just so strong. This whole team has bought in to whatever Gallant is preaching.

Same here. I'm a little disappointed that Winnipeg isn't doing better, but when you're facing a deep team like Vegas is, you have to have all four lines on point all night.

Winnipeg did pretty well this season. Going into the post-season, I think the smart money was on Nashville to win the West and eventually the Stanley Cup, followed by Winnipeg. Vegas was a long-shot, even though they made the playoffs.
To consider the Jets of under-achieving should now be seen as also under-estimating a really strong Vegas team. They've got balanced scoring and they skate just that much harder and faster than everyone else in the league.
EDIT: forgot to add that I think Florida fired Gallant because he couldn't get an injury-riddled team to play above .500 and their analytics-loving team management felt that Gallant was not the long-term solution.Last edited by Arfguy; 05-21-2018 at 10:12 AM.
