This issue could have been a disservice in a lot of ways but I enjoyed it. Batman has a plausible reason for taking such an extreme turn (the death of his new family), and while I have my gripes about people being able to land strikes at close range onto speedsters, Barry wasn't written as incompetent. Him being in there was a nice touch.

(That TDKR pose as he referenced getting older and slower was awesome too.)

Overall this helped me understand a fairly confusing concept and story so far.

I'm wondering if we should take this issue as an indication that Barry will eventually recover from the Negative Speed Force, since he seems fine here and in the event proper?

It also seems like he and Wally have reconciled, even though things still seem iffy with Iris.

The current events of Flash could of been before the events of Red Death took place, or I suspect they were ignored for this issue. It's the current Flash writer who did this issue as well wasn't it?

I dunno Barry that got his powers stolen sure was written incompetent... and it only took Red Death's wake to take main Barry out. Red Death looks cool and all but I kind of get tired of the same one character owning the whole league with their own powers/planned it already/MacGuffin suit.

I enjoyed this book, mostly due to the art. Batman does seem to be invincible, but I loved that Barry is inside his head still - maybe that's his downfall as Metal continues? I wrote a more in depth look at it here if you're interested: https://sirmarkussite.wordpress.com/...the-red-death/

But again, I dug it. Good cover and a good start to the Dark Multiverse Batmen.
