Default Thoughts on the Thrawn Novel

While I enjoyed it for the most part I thought it fell apart there at the end with the final assault and how Vanto's storyline wrapped up.

Personally I wished Vanto could have been Gilad Pelleaon simply out of familiarity. I did enjoy that he was able to use Parck as the as the one who found him. I dislike that he abandoned the exile back story as a ruse. I cheered like crazy when he got Command of the Chimaera (a name I didn't know how to pronounce when I first read it in Heir to the Empire.)

One thing, As I was reading the Tarkin part of the story, I kept picturing Charles Dance in the role of Tarkin.
Stick "we work together and we get out of here alive"

It was a very good read though the ending I felt kind of forced Zahn into a corner by having to fit Thrawn into the canon of Rebels, that said I thought he did a good job of bridging the Thrawn he created decades ago into the new canon
