I disagree with him of the opinion of Fantastic Four and Secret Wars. Secret Wars was only a great ending for Reed, not the Fantastic Four as a whole. Johnny never showed up, Ben was a wall for most of it then died and Sue was just a trophy for Reed and Doom to fight over.

not as great as rebirth which created a sense of mystery forbidding and cosmic spectacle which seems missing here in spite of the prehistoric avengers fighting a celestial. the galactic empire arc and the valeria reveal along with the appearance of the star brand were the positives but the rest was just snippets material which just didn't create any sense of mystery or foreboding. perhaps it is because marvel has explored its cosmic hierarchy to the fullest and dealt with it all in excellent series and events that there just aren't many new toys left in its chest to take out like DC did with watchmen. let's hope the series arcs that follow are better and if not at least there is the avengers crossover to look forward to as long as it doesn't involve kang immortus and time travel as we just had a crossover of that sort in the first arc of waids avengers.

There blatently is a fear in DC to never let it go out of print because the rights revert to him otherwise. It is very easy to let it go out of print, and it is very shrewd to keep making it relevant every few years to keep it from being a drain on their finances. That isn't a conspiracy it is just sharp practice born from a clause in a contract.

But Rebirth's use of it is pure cynicism.

DC continue to print Watchmen because it keeps selling. It's not fear of rights reversions that keeps it in print it's that they keep making money off it.
