It was a fun issue, as always. I'm glad I wasn't the only who wondered how Ben's hair was different, I've tweeted Sliney to see if he can shed some light on the issue!

I was on Kaine's side of the argument to be honest, i mean he went through so much before and after he was killed and got so little in rewards but Ben gets a Deus Ex so quickly all because Death in a move that i still can't find the logic behind says so? Hmph, nope that just doesn't fly with me. But i already know what people will say so i won't say anymore on this except that Kaine deserves better after all he went through.

I wonder if Kaine will even consider the option of coming to Bens aid if he needs help. Perhaps he will after all this is the man who has always tried to save jackal because he created him.

the secret empire bit was a bit rushed maybe would have better to show how he survived all it needed was a few pages, apart from that another solid issue, really good book.

Suffering without reward, while still being heroic, is Kaine's defining attribute.

It helps to always be a bit grumpy about it too...like "do I have to deal with this?", it's a defining trait of Spiders

This is bound to spark some debate over it but really, neither are wrong. Kaine has the right to feel Ben is favored by the fates but when we go back and think how Ben never actually exerted rvenge on all the things Kaine made him go through..well, Ben`s not wrong either. And if you only want to be a hero to rep your reward well...circle debate.

After all, he did ask to exchange his life for Kaine and the girl.

But yeah, suffering without reward for Kaine and Ben`s is like that guy who tries to stay away, to leave everything, to not want to have anything to do with heroics and ends up...getting the reward. Superhero life is ironic like that but this difference, this distance between the two was something also appearant back then.

Hopefully PAD will keep expanding and finesse this contrasting narrative between these two. It`s more interesting to what is going on with Petr, for sure.

Cosigned. At least Ben and Kaine are still evolving, or able to evolve, as characters and in terms of their relation to each other.

Shouldn't Cassandra Mercury be wondering why "Peter" looks the same as the head of Parker Industries now that his face is cleared up.

So i think i like the new hornet ( what’s this about wolverine killing the original?) and i’m not sure but riccochet might be new too; i don’t really care about prodigy, but i’m wondering if dusk will have someone new under the mask too. Don’t know if I like that , because as i recall, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the original. Other than that, i’m not sure about this turf war between the casino owners, and i did find it kind of interesting that ben was pulling a holier than thou act on kaine. But then, i find it kind of weird that we have two peter parker clones running around.

I love this series and really enjoyed this issue. The only thing I disliked about it was Kaine's ponytail, that is not a good look for him and needs to go away as soon as possible.

See? Even the fans don't give Kaine the respect he wants. He goes and saves a bunch of people from looters and all the fans can do is complain about his ponytail.

Well, they both have somewhat valid reasons to question each other's morality. Granted, Ben's actions were a lot more egregious, so it's perfectly understandable that Kaine wants him to pay for what he's done, but it's still telling that Kaine's first reaction was to try to kill Ben rather than bring him in so he could answer for his crimes like an "actual" hero would. As for the Slingers, you can read more on the original Hornet's death in the Wolverine arc "Enemy of the State," which had him brainwashed by the Hand and HYDRA into going on a murder spree that claimed a lot of lives, including the lives of some heroes, such as Hornet.

I wouldn't bother to read Enemy of the State to learn more about Hornet. his death was an afterthought. they even had SHIELD kind of echo that fact over his corpse. kind of sad.

Point taken. One of the worse instances of "C-List Fodder" in Marvel's output during the 2000s.
