I'm really surprised to find several people here are enjoying it. I can't believe that anyone who complained about Iron Fist could enjoy this. The acting is so bad, but you can't tell if it's really the actors' fault or the amateurish dialogue. The action scenes are so weak, but even conventional scenes are staged poorly.

And with so many changes to the source material, I wonder why even bother with an adaptation? These aren't runaways. They're 90210 kids with superpowers. The angst doesn't register so much as the escapism. The comic had so many great story beats that are undermined by silly changes. Why did Molly need to be so old/big? Why do they just have a dinosaur in the basement for the kids to discover during their regular chores? I went into the show really hoping that they would still pull off the twist at the end of the comics' volume 3, because it was really clever, but the way they have set things up now, I'm hoping they don't because it would just seem cheap and dumb.
I read the original comics too and I completely disagree with damn near every single thing you said. Mollys age is not a big deal. The acting is god damn phenomenal for the most part. Like seriously, your standards seem to be ridiculous if you think this is bad acting. Every single kid actor is doing well, and even the parents are interesting to watch. Maybe I am just easier to please, or you are naturally more difficult to sate, either way, I'm glad I have my take and not yours. We've barely had any action at all, so we have to wait and see how that plays out. And changes to the source material? It's a tv show, wtf did you think was going to happen? A Carbon copy or close to it? And you dare compare the acting to Iron Fist? I was not as big a hater of Iron Fist as most, but almost everyone in this damn show has done a MUCH better acting job and has MUCH better characterization than Danny Rand, who came across as little more than a petulant child, and a dumb one at that. His Drunken master rival guarding the door had orders of magnitude more chemistry and appeal in his pinky finger and their appearance on screen together made the contrast so much more stark.

The characters drawn in runaways tv show have depth, this is lost on you? I think this is a failure of your own perceptions and brain, not the shows.

I see a lot of people complaining about Molly after this episode but I don't see what's so wrong. Yeah she was dumb but she was nervous and didn't thought and she has been childish since the beginning even if the actress doesn't look so young. And I've made peace with the pacing after accepting that this is like a a prelude/origin story/whatever and the actual story from the comics it's gonna be more on season 2.

I have no trouble with Molly, she is a young girl who is realistically naive about the adults she knows. She should be nervous, cant lie and not act like sje is super smart superhero spy like Alex.

My only real trouble is as you said to get used to idea that maybe we will get the actual Runaways comics in season 2, that is prelude. The cool thing about the comics was supervillains parents the kid was running from, fighting alone as a group. I will be happy if/when Nico and co finally give up on their parents being decent people and be loyal to each other.

The kids not giving up on their parents is one change about the show I'm loving. The Pride ain't monsters in this show like they were in the comics. I like that kids are trying to understand why their parents are doing what they're doing understanding that things ain't black and white.

I bet her password is Nico. The staff being explained as science though... Ugh...
I was really happy they didnt change Karolina's sexuality to just be a love interest för Chase, to me it was ahead of its time with her story when she was open about her sexuality, her story with Xavin was pretty different for a teenage superhero comics. I hope they add Xavin to the next season of this show. I thought it was cool how he/she changed gender to please Karolina, the way the alien was fluid with gender identity.

They need to become Runaways still and i enjoy its not black and white in that murderers can still be loving parents. Thats very realistic, mature look at humans. Biggest killers in history loved their wife/kids. Serial killers rarely kill their wife while killing 20 women for example.

The parents have killed alot of teenagers, other people, they are clear minded, unfeeling murderers in a way. They choose to kill to get power, money. Thats clear, the show isnt making excuses for that.

They are not simple supervillain killers the kids run away directly from in the comics thats a whole different issue.

Of course the kids still need to run away but it's not a gripe for me yet. Watching Marvels other streaming shows taught me that the characters won't become who they are meant to be until the final episode of the season.

From this episode my understanding is the parents were trapped into committing murder. Victor, Tina and Leslie were the only ones who knew they were killing someone in the first ritual.

Yeah they were only greedy people tricked into the first murder most of them but they have killed tons of people in the ritual since then. You cant be tricked into that many killings. I like that they are thinking logically in their mind that they have to get rid of people to get all their money, power,Pride plans. Not many supervillains start killing because they hate people because of their race, politics etc

They continued to kill people because that's how Jonas collects on the success he handed them. There's the video evidence he has everyone on. It's why the Yorkes readied a place completely off the grid with a money stash when they tried to leave. They are not angels but the rituals is something that eats away at most of the members.

Just finished the latest episode... Molly is an idiot. I say that looking at the actress who is obviously portraying a character st least 3 to 4 years younger than herself. If Molly is going to be this stupid they should have casted a younger actress or a younger looking one.

Uh...the parents in the comic loved their kids too. In fact, the fact that they loved their kids was the entire reason they were doing what they were doing to begin with.

I expect 14 year olds to be idiots. Letting something slip would be a common mistake of someone her age.

This is the second time Molly has put them in danger though by exposing them. Her usage of flash photography during that first ceremony and leaving their hair pin in the office put Alex's folks on their trail in the first place. So I do think at this point the Runaways need to dediate one of their team to Molly watch at all times during any missions. She's becoming a bit of an Achilles heel, not that she's not an asset too as she likewise saved their butts twice.
