I am perfectly fine with this one.

Dude that can do anything should not beat Dude who specialises in the field he specialises in.

Similarily, Batman should not (and does not) get to beat Lady Shiva using just martial arts.

Yeah, I think it's been the one hero vs hero idea too lame for them to even do. They might have him outrun a hungover Barry or something, but being faster than the fastest man alive does not provide a likeable quality.

Why do fans hate: Clark Kent is who i am and Superman is what i do?

Step in his shoes. Superman is not his name. It was given by others. His name is Clark Kent. His name is Kal-El. His name is not Superman.

Why such a fuss? I grew up as Clark Kent. So i am Clark Kent. Just by putting on some clothes i am not changed. Why this hatred? I am not here to challenge but to understand why fans feel like this?

Yeah, I'm perfectly fine with him thinking of himself as "Clark" first and foremost. I think some people view it as a confrontational statement in the light of the Pre-Crisis/Post-Crisis fandom wars, but for me it was always a logical tweak to the mythos. Now, I agree that over time it shouldn't be held in such stark black and white terms. He's obviously going to think of himself as Clark first and foremost early on, but I as he learns more of his Kryptoninan heritage and has put in years being Superman, the lines between Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman should be blurred a bit more and he can accept all aspects of his Earthling, Kryptonian, and superhero personas.

It’s cause Clark gets diminished. He can be Clark Kent but I think of Clark Kent as able to repair a Legion Time bubble and invent a modification that it improves its operation.

I think it's a greedy way to exalt the character. He's faster than fast people, but that's not the same as being faster than the fastest man, who has speed and pretty much nothing else. If he is fast enough to crack the time barrier, why does he need to take the title from a guy with no other titles? Why is he less super if he's 96% as fast but also has the brains to match Lex and the strength to match Mongul?

If you have a roofing gig, would you rather want to bench 500 pounds and not have roofing skill, or bench 450 with solid roofing experience?

Anyway, I think the best comic to deal with it was the first story from DCP, by Pasko and Garcia Lopez.

although if you tweek it a little it could be totally reasonable to be faster than the fastest man if man is meant to be human, because superman is kryptonian

but then again there is the need to twist things for it to make sense
