What she needs is a writer that is interested in her (and more talented in general). I feel like Lemire tried to give Storm some focus, and he is capable of putting a story together, but it just wasn't that great. Guggenheim, on the other hand, just doesn't give a shit about her.

We simply need to get her in a different book. And no Avengers garbage.

Have her join the Uncanny X-Men relaunch we all suspect is coming. If it's true that Marvel is after big talent for 2018, it's a prime opportunity to give Ro some shine and do it in a more exciting fashion than the last guy who tried.

Not that it's Lemire's fault he got saddled with the "promote Inhumane in the X-Men" trash. I think that may have affected the potential of his Storm story.

The next writer to write Storm should just focus on making her look confident, cool, and somewhat aloof/higher than thou. Give her some moments where we can see she isn't afraid to do what is emotionally difficult to do.

And ffs, let her shock the hell out of a bad guy. It's not like it's supposed to be her favorite thing, but she will light somebody up if given no other choice. Or just stab them.

People would ignore this because it wasnt in an xbook

but be ok.with this because it was in the xbook:

That is my problem. Anything noteworthy, save her solo, relating to her occurred outside the xbooks including her being a goddess. Storm was a character that was originally conceived as being a goddess but once Phoenix came along she became the central to a lot the x stories written
. As long as Jean is there, I don't think Storm can be great as she was intended to be. So I need her to be gone like now from the xmen and let her have a solo where she can be rid of the dead weight keeping her from reaching her full potential. It's hard to be a goddess among characters that shoot beams out there eyes or walk through walls.

Unless, something changes, she serves no purpose other than being window dressing.
This is pretty mush how I feel. Storm will always be a pillar of the X-Men. But until they're ready to take her seriously, she needs to spread her wings and head for greener pastures.

X-Men Blue has totally abandoned any plot we thought we were getting when we signed up and went the "alt-reality and time-displaced characters band together to do......something" route. I'm just waiting until the Cross Time Capers cause it has X-Men 2099 and the OG Gen X in it. Plus, whatever is going on with Prof X that looks like a carry-over plot from Astonishing X-Men. After that, more character assassination porn for Emma in the "Mothervine" arc. I don't even know what's going on anymore but ninjas!

Considering what happened to Hellion in Spider-Man and the X-Men compared to like three pages of Uncanny Avengers w/ Duggan.......I'm glad we aren't getting Julian in the X-Books anymore. They've got to all abandon ship until we get a complete X-Line rehaul. Think about what just happened to Magik in X-Men Gold and what's been happening to Emma in all the X-Books? Secret Warriors alone managed to bring back a ton of X-favs within 3 issues while X-Editorial still talks about not having space.

Emma's gotten some of the best writing in Secret Empire than she had in years. There's a reason most people want their fav X-Men on teams like Ultimates, Champions, Defenders, Uncanny Avengers and guest-starring in books like Black Panther and Spider-Man instead of asking for them to be on the Gold & Blue teams.

this is sadly the true, i enjoy cyclops way more in champions than in blue
blue in general has been a huge disppontment. i thought it was going to be magneto and the O5 but now is just an AU duplicate fest

I am thinking with Jean coming back things will get better for storm. Those two power house women were always friends and will have an awesome time together on panel as long as the focus isn’t STILL on boring kitty pryde.

To be honest, I wouldn’t really mind her on Uncanny Avengers after No Surrender. It’s a fantastic book so she will be written well and her and Rogue have a wonderful report. Plus the added dynamic of Rogue leading a team with storm on it is cool since storm has been in leadership way more. I think it would only strengthen their bond.

I agree with you. I actually prefer Storm and Rogue together more than Storm and Jean Grey.

to the contrary that is the worst thing for xmen characters to do.

rogue is not doing quite well, she is been used and abused in avengers.

beast was an avenger back when it was organic and no that was not when he was at his best. he was at his best during whedon's astonishing xmen and morrison's new xmen.

maybe avengers should focus on their own forgettable characters and stop try to steal xmen characters.

fans of rogue are counting down the day she leaves avengers.

I too prefer the storm and Rogue pairing over the storm and Jean one. Rogue is flourishing in Uncanny Avengers and is being written quite well. I can only see good things for storm on that team. Rogue leading the Uncanny avengers is such a blessing while the x-books are meh at best. With Rogue doing so well there, I can only see the two of them being a dynamic duo leading the charge.

I really love the idea of Storm joining Rogue. And I think Storm would follow her lead just to show she trusts her judgement. Ultimately, I believe that's why Storm is hanging around X-Men Gold. She's basically there to ensure that everyone obeys Kitty and doesn't give her any back talk.

Better writers would be my obvious choice, but flailing that Solo/appearances in the rest of marvel is a good alternative.

I'd totally be good with Storm joining UA (if it's still around, but it one of their more stable selling titles) or a version of the Ultimate's once the Avenger revamp is done, especially since it seems like the x-office is creatively bankrupt. How Blue & Gold manage to outsell better titles, I don't know. X-brand loyalty is strong, despite the stories clearly lacking imo.

I'd be disappointed if Storm were removed from the books, but she certainly needs a much better writer than she's had recently - someone that writes her as a powerful leader but not overpowered. I'd definitely buy a Storm solo book but I don't want to see her gone from the X-Books. I enjoy her interaction with the core members if it was done by a writer who understands how to write a TEAM book. Guggs doesn't have a clue.

Lol, mom's making sure the kids play nice, humoring them and everything. She's even playing possum in Gold so the team has stuff to do, she's really too kind.

... I am getting to that point, last couple of issues have really pissed me off on how they are doing rogue. She needs to go home, save Storm and Nightcrawler and Colossus (with a power upgrade and a personality) from the "Kitty Pride Show". Kitty can go back burner on the Generation X title. While at the same time killing, err, I mean "dealing" with the teen O5, OML, son of wolverine part 2 AND evil storm.

Hell Scarlet Witch needs to show up (she is sitting around in UA already) and say, "No more X clones or one off X characters". Boom. 98% of all nonsense leaves the X-Titles.

OG logan is back, pop him and Jean in and we got comic book again. Sprinkle other favorites at your leisure.

You are welcome Marvel. I fixed everything in the X verse. Kill Blue and Gold. Make Storm a leader of whatever this new group is... Rogue can go in new book or stay in Astonishing.

Wow. I needed to quote this for the undeniable truth that it is. Praise be unto The Bright Lady, Hadari Yao, All-Goddess who Preserves the Balance of All Natural Things.
