I agree with this article that it would have made more sense if Northstar was the speedster in DOFP instead of Pietro who , apparently, doesn't even have a connection to Magneto anymore!

Northstar, for me, is a character I cannot help but adore.
I don't know WHY I seem to adore so many arrogant characters, but he's made my list.

He's not only my second favorite speedster, but he's my second favorite twin (Quicksilver being the first for both).
Being that I'm currently reading Alpha Flight, I'm learning about the character, and I hope he appears more throughout the series (he hadn't been in the last few issues I'd read, but reappeared in #21, I believe).

Wow. So DOFP Quicksilver gets brought in because of his past connection to Wolverine and is a disgraced athlete besides? Golly gosh gee wiz, why does that sound familiar? I guess FOX studios is really a gateway to Mojoworld -- no spine allowed.

One of the (many!) things I like the character is his general low-bullshit tolerance and lack of filter. There's really not a lot of pretense at politeness or smalltalk with him. Plus there's the seeming contradiction between his no-fucks-given arrogance and how he's willing to go to the mat for people he cares about (even if some of them haven't deserved it).

Quite agreed Cold Water, but for me star and quicksilver are tied. I can never decide who I like better

Fanart by Rey Arzeno, who is rapidly becoming one of my favorite beefcake artists. Love how he worked Quebec's flag into the ski suit.

God, why don't Marvel just hire all their artists off that site?

I'm pretty sure the next Gambit solo would sell approximately half a million copies per issue if Rey was the one doing the fanservice, yes.

Here's a take on a Northstar street outfit.

And for laughs, JP for an X-Men/Masters of the Universe fusion.

I think it's funny, an observation I made about myself the other day:
I have my favorite land speedster: Quicksilver
I have my favorite water speedster: Namor
I have my favorite air speedster: Northstar

All of my favorite speedsters are arrogant.
In fact, if I'm recalling correctly (and without putting too much thought into it): All Marvel speedsters are arrogant in some way, at some point (including Aurora, in ways).

Northstar appearance in "No More Humans".

Tempus, I know pickings are slim in your corner of the woods, but seriously, he's gay and married.

Has a character ever been captured so well in two words???

Anyway, what's everyone's thoughts on Jean-Paul's role in the next AXM arc? At least with Alpha Flight appearing he'll be more than the wallpaper he was in issues 1-6

I'm not entirely convinced of that. Like so many other team books, AXM is looking really damn crowded. Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Iceman, Firestar, Storm, and Colossus are going to be in this book in addition to JP and Alpha Flight. He hasn't even appeared on any of the Kyle/Yost covers yet. So I'm not convinced his part is going to be any more pronounced than it was last arc. The writers said his role was big, but that might just mean important, not necessarily substantial.

This is why I hate the same characters being in multiple books - THREE of the characters here have their own solos!!! Two more (beast, iceman) are in other books too.
