Ok, let me get this straight.
Ben Affleck sexually harassed/assaults a young woman. Jason Momoa makes a horribly distasteful "joke," in public, that glamorizes rape.
But, you're both concerned more about the "coincidence" of the timing?
And, why is "controversies" in parentheses?
Does the timing stink for JL? Yes. But, isn't it less likely that this is resurfacing now because of the movie release date or more likely due to the press coverage of the Harvey Scumbag case and the attention it shines on the sexism that still permeates Hollywood in general?
More important, does the timing really matter? These can't resurface, "coincidentally" or not, if they never happened.
At least, to Jason Momoa's credit, while his "joke" was way out of line, he owns it. His apology seems informed and heartfelt.
