New Mutants Trailer

The trailer didn't seem like anything new or different. However, I do like that Fox is trying a new angle with this franchise. I think it'll be cool to see the mutants (especially Cannonball) show off their powers in future installment, but I have no problem with trying something like this to expand movies based on comic book properties to more genres going forward.

I will wait for reviews, but I like the direction.

I genuinely am more excited for this movie than just about anything else with a set release date. But I'm a huge X-Men fan and a giant horror nerd too, so...

This goes to the heart of why I'm not enthused about Disney and Fox merging. There won't be as many superhero films made for precisely this reason. No studio wants to compete with itself.

Yea but they pushed it back way too far. Like the article suggest there is probaly more at play here. Possibly reshoots

If it's true they want to "rework it to be scarier," that bodes ill. It doesn't mean they want to add more blood. It means they want to change the story significantly. So there's a pretty high risk we end up with a non-cohesive narrative mess for the sake of a few thrills.

By the way it sound they are doing alot of reshoots because the test screenings did not go that well. The studio was not totally happy with the reactions from the test audiences. If they push a movie back a full year that screams major reshoots and major changes. I was never rally thrilled with the whole "stuck in a haunted house horror movie" vibe they were going for to begin with, and if they are doubling down and making it even more of a horror movie I am losing even more interest.
