I like a lot of these finalists. My fave from Part 1 didn't survive, unfortunately. I went with 1991, my Part 2 fave. And clearly you all think the word "Detective" should get better billing than "Batman." I couldn't agree more.
While the 1991 logo has fondness from me for being the logo under which Stephanie Brown first appeared, I really love the 2003 logo, and appreciate that it's the one currently being used.
"We're the same thing, you and I. We're both lies that eventually became the truth." Lara Notsil, Star Wars: X-Wing: Solo Command, Aaron Allston

"There's room in our line of work for hope, too." Stephanie Brown

Surprised to see so many later logos in the running--well late from my perspective--and only the 1937.2 to fight for tradition. Of the later ones, only the 1991 is distinctive in its font. The rest win points on display--but you could do those with any font and it would be about the same result. Even the classic font could have been used for the 2014 edition and it would still have the same effect in terms of display.
But obviously, the classic DETECTIVE COMICS logo should win. You know it's going to return to the cover in the future for special occasions. It's the default logo for the comic, without question.
Much as I like the one from the 1930s, I voted the 1979 version.
The name of the book is clearly specified, but the wrap-around Batman and cape also show who's the star.
The murder of the classic 'TEC logo in this poll cries out for some darknight detective to blow the case wide open and bring the outlaws to justice.
I figured I had to revive this thread too since it combined the other two.
