Congratulations to Stony for his terrifying cover featuring the Spectre in a classic role. Was this one of the glow-in-the-dark variants DC put out for the series? The cover tied in the intensity of the character with the classic iconic headless horseman motif. Well done, Stony.

As to what I've learned this week, the captain has realized that a pop culture icon is no longer enough to win this contest. Either that, or you're all a bunch of young kids who only have experienced Barnabus through Johnny Depp and did not live through the run home from school to see Dark Shadows and let the neighbor girl in your house to watch it with you as her mother wouldn't let her watch it. Dark Shadows was an amazing mix of vampires, werewolves, ghosts, time travel, and alternate dimensions. Regrettably, it didn't hold up well but at the time, it was the shitz.

I know neither Jonathan Frid nor this Johnny Depp interpretation of which you speak.

I have only ever known one Barnabas Collins: Ben Cross of 1991's DARK SHADOWS tv show!

Congratulations Stony, who I believe is long overdue

I almost forgot about the relaunch of Dark Shadows with Ben Cross. I think it just didn't have the right chemistry or something.

I remember running home from school to watch Dark Shadows in the afternoon. Those were the days when the shows were filmed live and the actors would sometimes flub their lines. A bit of music from the show became a hit as a single, it was called Quentin's theme as I recall. David Selby is probably the other best known cast member from the show besides Jonathan Frid. Alexandre Moltke Isles, who played the young governess Victoria Winters gained some notoriety in her personal life for being the mistress of Claus von Bulow. she was his mistress and the reason why he allegedly murdured his wife Sunny von Bulow. There's an excellent film about the case and it's outcome called Reversal of Fortune.

The Johnny Depp one had good set design, as do all Tim Burton films but a bit too campy for me.

It's an honor to congratulate you for this supernatural victory, Stony.

(Especially while re-watching the penultimate episode of Twin Peaks The Return. Just another tv show with time travel and alternate dimensions, Captain. Sadly no Dark Shadows for us French speaking kids...)

EDIT : oh! The Dale Cooper avatar is gone!

Congrats Stony....though I thought for sure my cover would have gotten at least 1 vote. Oh, well.

I was about to do so, but my will was subjugated by the 50s ghosts of Shalla Val and my vote drowned in the sea... (love Carl Burgos covers...)

A question for all the good people here - all full of knowledge and having proven their excellent taste. Just saw that a NIGHT FORCE BY WOLFMAN & COLAN COMPLETE SERIES HC is out this week. Should I invest in it? (As the theme of the week was supernatural I guess that I'm not that much off-topic)
