Default Were there any good X-books released around the same time as New X Men?

Hello! I'm relatively unfamiliar to Marvel Comics since I'm more of a DC fan, but one of my favorite runs on a comic book title was Grant Morrison's run on X Men, so I'm wondering if there were any comics of remarkable quality under the X-Men line of titles, released during that time period. (Besides X Statix.)

X-Force/X-Statix, Cable and X-Treme X-Men were all great then.

Ultimate X-Men was fantastic around then, but not 616.

Minus Chuck Austen's nonsense, the X-Books overall were pretty strong. Just avoid his time on Uncanny/X-Men and it's hard to go wrong.

Yeah, I read Mark Millar and Brian Michael Bendis's Ultimate X Men, it's pretty great, as is much of the earlier days of the Ultimate universe.

x-force (the run that begins with 116) and x-statix, both by Milligan and Allred

    And District-X

And Claremont X-Treme X-Men (may have been Extreme, dont remember) has a few fans

New Mutants (by Weir and DeFilipis) runs about this time, doesn't it? that's a very good series (leading into the next volume of New X-Men (Academy X).

Can also confirm that Milligan's X-Force is a phenomenal read.

I liked the short run of Joe Casey on Uncanny X-men. Very interesting concepts. But I don't think it is for everybody.
