No matter how weird the topic, there's a JIMMY OLSEN cover for the occasion.

You can find a bunch of books I wrote stories for here. The weekly column is here.

With a Superman redone by Neal Adams no less. Cause DC had reasons.

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Pretty sure that is not a Barks cover, though this has a Barks reprint inside. I could be wrong, though. Do you have a source? comics.org has no info on the cover artist.

I would guess Daniel Branca or Marco Rota from the way Scrooge's "sideburns" were drawn.

I am basing my statement on this cover alone. I'm assuming a Barks Library would have an actual Barks drawing on the cover. I could be wrong, though as I'm certainly no scholar in this area.

Ah, with the original coloring I probably would not have doubted it's Barks. With the black shirts on Donald and the boys and the other color choices, I figured it for a piece of art from this century.

"I should describe my known nature as tripartite, my interests consisting of three parallel and disassociated groups; a) love of the strange and the fantastic, b) love of abstract truth and scientific logic, c) love of the ancient and the permanent. Sundry combinations of these strains will probably account for my...odd tastes, and eccentricities."

That cover is a reproduction of the black and white "Ghost Talk Spooken Here" illustration by Barks that appeared on the inside front cover of Uncle Scrooge #56.

A colorized version of that drawing was later used as the cover for the 1987 series called Walt Disney's Uncles Scrooge Adventures, issue #21 (this comic includes a reprint of US #56's ghost story).

A lot of really good covers, but the one that matches the theme the best, in my opinion, is the one posted by Shalla Bal.
