Well, William Gibson didn't sue FASA for lifting large parts of his work for Shadowrun, so I guess this is just paying it forward.

This has too few elves with mohawks, and too much trap music to be Shadowrun.

(I would love to see a Shadowrun TV series on Netflix or HBO, though.)

Agreed, if the movie is successful (by whatever metric Netflix deems success) it would be cool if they'd just concede it's a Shadowrun prequel and spinoff a series.

When I saw the thread I was thinking maybe it had came out today.

I'm still not sure about this. I'm interested to see how it turns out, but neither trailer makes it look all that good.
