Default Spider man event of 2018 speculation

Could the spider man event of 2018 be Peter Parker's final adventure where he saves the world at the cost of his life with Osborn as the main villian? It could be the event where Spidey is known as the worlds greatest hero like Cable predicted. Then Miles will become the main spider man.

For a few months...then they bring over the RYV Parkers to take over the main book

You know what I'm thinking about the 2018 Spidey themed event: OMD finally revisited.

I always wonder if they would revisit that cable statement but him dying just to achieve it would suck for me actually

Mephisto does seem to be turning up in a lot of other books lately...in January, he'll be in Falcon

    No.

Miles will never be the one and only Spider-Man. Unless there's some event where Peter is temporarily displaced or believed dead.

But there will never be a permanent replacement of Peter for Miles. Ever.

Why would Marvel ever want to do that? They wouldn't.

Miles will continue to be a big deal - especially with the animated movie next year - but no one should ever think anyone at Marvel has even a glimmer of a thought of making him take the place of Peter in the main MU.

The big Spidey event of 2018 might well involve Osborn, though. Slott is clearly building up to something with him.

Marvel has run out of ideas for Peter if they had to do the PI stunt then make Peter the menace instead of Spidey. The marraige is not coming back other than ryv. So they may as well replace Peter with Miles.

No surprise. That's the fourth part of an arc that started last week. An arc involving his son.

I just want the big name heroes to make peace with Peter and hopefully consider a true part of the team, a equal and family. Peter needs to focus on establishing people he needs in his life personally not professionally, and I think outside of aunt may and maybe Harry Osborn, Peter should work more closer with the Avengers and the fantastic four a a sort of hub for support on the street or city activity. They share the same city for crying out loud, let them know ahead of time that hes centered around the street world.

Ironman and Black Panther need to invest in his life more and maybe supervise him in science to help him in crime stopping, cap needs to help him have a family based relationship to help mold him into a more mature and dependable hero, he needs to be involved with more kid heroes again, he needs to learn to stop failing to adversity and learn to be competent with his life.

And then after those issues are fixed, he can get his company back and marry MJ again.

    That's not so crazy.

    I just had a thought, I don't know if it'll happen but it's a possibility.

Slott is off the book after #800, which will be the end of Peter.

Bendis takes over with #801 with Amazing Spider-Man starting Miles Morales. Nick Spencer writes 'Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' starring the RYV characters now in 616. That way Miles is in Amazing when his animated movie comes out.

Around the time of Homecoming 2, Peter will be back in Amazing. They'll either do a Superman and merge the RYV version with the 616 version, or one will die to save the other.

Just a theory, not something is necessary want or even truly believe but stranger things have happened

No. Peter has died enough. And screw Miles. The only ones even close to worthy of replacing Peter are Kaine or Miguel, but neither of them should either. Miles isn't a bad character, but he gets way too overhyped all the time. And in-universe, he isn't close to skilled/powerful/experienced enough to replace Peter.

I would like to see Peter show us how awesome he is, but not die.

Miles wont replace Peter and that has to do with the higher ups currently marketing Peter Parker as well as this weird need to make Peter young and retain nostalgia for young Peter Parker.
Miles does fulfill the role of Spider-man's legacy, and very well has the capacity to replace him but that's stalled on MCU synergy, and no Peter alternative to fall back on established in the market beyond Kaine. While Marvel has a habit of making bad decisions with the Spider-man brand and as much as I like Kaine they don't want to and shouldn't put all that effort into only one alternate Parker. This is a lot of the reason we are seeing so many spider heroes in stores now because Marvel seems genuinely curious about where to go beyond Miles. It's a direction they will go, but it wont be for awhile so until then Miles just shares a name.

We are more likely to see a confrontation between Norman and Peter as good and evil business men who are hated by the public.

Short term perhaps but long term, I seriously do not see such a thing ever happening. There is no way in blue hell Marvel or their taskmasters at Disney will give up the cash cow that is Peter Parker aka the original, and still in my opinion greatest, Spider-Man.

the next big event of spider man will be the one where he needs to take over a fictional country and rule it which he does and goes on to carve out a intergalactic empire which puts the PE era to shame. when the writers have exhausted all the story lines possible with this scenario then peter will clash in a war of panther and spider totem with tchalla and which will lead to destruction of his empire and leading to him joining the guardian of galaxies to escape from all the space aliens braying to try him for war crimes.

PI wasn't a "stunt", it was a storyline. You're free to not like it but it wasn't any more of a "stunt" than any other storyline in the character's history.

And no, the marriage isn't coming back but as most fans would tell you, being married isn't the be-all, end-all for Peter.

Regardless of anything, though, the bottom line is that Marvel will never, ever permanently replace Peter.
