I really want it to be Kevin Kline I truly truly do.

I could see that working.

There is a weird part of me that thinks John Cusack could do it. But I'm not sure he's got enough...I dunno...gravitas. But there is something about he and spacey...they almost even have a similar look, to a degree. Not too much, but just enough. And Cusack can play a dick.

It'd be something where I'd like to see someone stand in for Spacey on a smaller scale in a season 6, and then maybe write the character off.

I commend Scott for doing it but it doesn't sound like it's 75% of the film Spacey only filmed for about to weeks with some reports saying it was about 8 to 10 days.

I guess Cusack might work. he's the same age as Robin Wright (51). but that's seven years younger than Underwood. is he also going to adopt Frank's health problems? Gary Cole does a pretty great southern accent.

I also love the fact that he's still intending on making his release date.

I find it interesting that Scott wanted Plummer for the role initially, but the studio made him go for a bigger star. Just goes to show it all works out in the end I suppose.
