Default Predictions for Detective Comics 1000

I know it seems like a ways away, but with it being released every two weeks it's not really that far away.
So I made a poll of what everyone thinks is going to happen since the last real landmark issue was Batman 500 and we all know what happened there

We know the wedding will eventually happen, and since it's such a big deal they may as well have it in the thousandth issue right?
Tim becoming Batman? The current arc says it'll happen.
Jean Paul redonning his Batsuit; I feel like they planted the seed by him saying he felt the Batman AI in his head. Between that and his programming the two are bound to conflict and he'll lose it and become Batman in this continuity as well.
Another reboot - because these people are just flying by the seat of their pants...

    Bruce & Selena Wedding
    Tim becomes Batman
Jean Paul Valley redons the batsuit
    Another Reboot

I don't think that any of this is going to happen, specially the part of Tim becoming Batman (the whole point is that is a bad idea anyway), the only one that migth occur is Bruce and Selina weeding as a collaborative project beetween many writters.

    What he said ^^^.

Also, a group of stories. I'm not so sure DC is gonna "LET Bruce and Selina marry." Just don;t see it happening. I HOPE IT WILL.

However, this LANDMARK issue, will be B I G!!!

None. Bruce/Selina getting married is King's baby. So King's going to get that. Tim becomes Batman ain't happening. Jean Paul redons the suit will happen whenever Tynion deems it. And another reboot? HELL NO!
And behold I shall be a blight upon the land and everything I touch shall wither and die.

    -I never wanted Bruce married..
-Tim Batman? No.. I want Steph happy. Even Tomorrow Tim knows that this is a bad idea..
-Azrael as Batman??? .................I don´t know if I want this...........
-REBOOT, NEVER... We lost Steph and Cass in 2011 for this..

None of the above. I'm thinking there will be a couple of shorts in the issue focusing on different eras of Batman.

Some ideas from the Arkhamverse game: Death of Joker, Gordon becoming Mayor of Gotham, Shutdown of Arkham Asylum were all the crazies are on the streets, Scarecrow creating a Doomsday Device.

Something else: The return Batman's first villain Dr. Death, something with Joe Chill, or maybe something with Court of Owls

None of the above options really fit. King is writing the Bat/Cat stuff so any wedding would happen in 'Batman' or a special one-shot. Tim becoming Batman is currently being explored, so could potentially go that that way but it doesn't seem likely. We just had a Jean-Paul Batsuit arc, so I don't see that coming back. Batman definitely isn't going to reboot.

The question is interesting, though, because I don't feel Detective Comics is building towards anything particularly huge or engaging. Part of this is due to the book being forced into other cross-overs, but another part is the more low key feel of the book and the slightly hit-and-miss enemies/threats the team has faced. I feel the big numbered issues should feature a huge event, either the culmination of a long story or the beginning of a new era. Having a series of short stories rarely makes for a good book, and the quality usually varies.

I always assumed the book would start with the team coming together and building before it all falls apart due to a betrayal or a death, or that the threats being faced would somehow converge to force the team to overcome enormous odds. Either way it'd build to a huge blow-off in 'Tec #1000. At this point, I don't see how this can come together in the short time we have before then. I hope I'm wrong, because I am mostly enjoying the book.

    Hopefully Hugo strange comes back.
"Has Sariel summoned you here, Azrael? Have you come to witness the miracle of your brethren arriving on Earth?"

"I WILL MIX THE ASHES OF YOUR BONES WITH SALT AND USE THEM TO ENSURE THE EARTH THE TEMPLARS TILLED NEVER BEARS FRUIT AGAIN!"

"*sigh* I hoped it was for the miracle."

Dan Watters' Azrael was incredible, a constant delight and perhaps too good for this world (but not the Forth). For the love of St. Dumas, DC, give us more!!!

Agreed. This is exactly what it should be. It should just be a celebration of Batman the World's Greatest Detective Remember BRE the celebration of Robin I hope we don't get a repeat.

I think it will be a main story written by a Tynion, King or Snyder and a collection of short Batman stories written by other important Batman writers.

^^^ This will probably be what happens. I'd LOVE a LONG, TRUE DETECTIVE story. That's the book's TITLE Right?

I really think none of these are likely. The wedding: will be in Batman if it happens. Jean-Paul becoming Batman? Tynion loves his nostalgia, but I don't see enough groundwork laid for that. Reboot? That seems incredibly unlikely, but it's a bit far off for us to really know the results of Doomsday Clock. I'd say that "laying groundwork for new creative team" is more likely. Tim becoming Batman? Not in his Red Robin form, it won't. Maybe a backup story, but that doesn't seem that interesting - we already got the gist of him becoming Batman in his speech to Red Robin Tim about how the other Robins weren't right for the job.

I think it'll be a finale issue to Tynion's arc, extra sized, and then a bunch of backups and pinups. I hope at least it has the finale to Tynion's arc, because I'd much rather have something similar to 950 than the Wonder Woman 75th anniversary special, which was a ton of unrelated short stories by big name creators. Which is nice and all, but none of them were that spectacular. The Action Comics 1000 is listed as having a story or stories by the current Superman and Action writers, so there's a chance it'll have King and Tynion collaborating. But I don't really expect it.
