...a female Thor? At least DC has their number on one thing.

Marvel has had like a thousand answers to Wonder Woman, and none of them have clicked.
Storm probably has the best chance though.
Except Batman still is the most popular hero and sells the most books
#InGunnITrust, #ZackSnyderistheBlueprint, #ReleasetheAyerCut
STORM is part of the X-MEN, and they're not going to prop her up.
The best bet is CAPTAIN MARVEL, who really does have a shot. ANGELA has the second best chance.
I always thought Valkyrie was Marvel's female Thor.

All the relaunches in the world won't make Captain Marvel happen.
The best "answer" to WW is Storm. That she's getting a series very soon and they're still trying to force a more direct analogue is troubling to me.
Thor has always been the counterpoint to Wonder Woman, really. Just like Wonder Woman, he's often been a tough 'get' for Marvel; Kirby/Lee, Simonson, JMS and Aaron are the success stories (Ellis is debatable, I suppose). WW has had Marston, Perez, Rucka and Azzarello.
Ha, hey remember Warrior Woman? That was last year, right?
More than an answer to Wonder Woman, I think this is Marvel's answer to the legacy concept. I predict we'll see more major character getting replaced by newer versions.
A female Thor is a novel concept, however long it lasts (see: Until Thor 3 comes out). I imagine it's story driven as much as it's an appeal to gender and demographic - probably structurally not dissimilar to Superior Spider-Man. I'm not viewing it with a cynical eye; rather just a critical one. But however they establish her, eventually Thor-Thor, birth-name "Thor, Son of Odin", the guy, will take his job back (one expects half of curiosity about this is you know ... "okay neat ... how's Thor going to cope with this?") and they'll give her a new codename and supporting role elsewhere.
Wonder Woman is not (is barely ... they're all a bit owing to Superman) derivative. Wonder Woman's heroic persona was always a woman. Wonder Woman is not a sidekick (Batgirl, Supergirl), homage (Batwoman) or like this case - legacy (upcoming Jessica Cruz, Captain Marvel) - of a previous Wonder Man. Conversely, nobody is about to have Wonder Woman lose her right to hold the whip and give us a temporary two-year "Wonder Man" storyline starring Steve Trevor in a unitard and tiara. (God help me though, I'd read it if it was Dick Grayson!)
It's still an interesting storyline and a nice appeal to female readership. But there's no comparison.
Retro315 no more. Anonymity is so 2005.

But what about Thor Girl???
