Surprised that nobody has mentioned Bendis on Blue Beetle yet.

Who really started out as a stand-in for Jessica Drew...
Bendis is at his best on street-level heroes... and Daredevil and Alias were his peak. Defenders was reaching the same ballpark.
Avengers was too action-oriented and super-powered for him. It was like having Alfred Hitchcock write Transformers. A bad mix.
I'm sure we'll see a "Crisis on..." event written by him.
I also suspect there will be a shake-up at DC. The kitchen already has three cooks... He'll probably end up replacing Johns so he can focus on other media.

That's like saying Batman is the story about an 8-year old orphan in a halloween costume who beats up the poor and mentally ill.
Not a stand-in, a replacement.
Not that it matters in this context because Jessica Drew isn't a male character.
He made the Avengers a bigger deal in comics than the Xmen.
And he did it before the movies.
His run on the Xmen was less spectacular but still did well.
Frankly there isn't much damage that a Bendis could do to Justice League. The JLA's big seven
is pretty much well defined already.
Much of what Bendis did at Marvel was defining a big 7(Spider Man and Logan get to be Avengers, Captain Marvel plays a major role).
I'm interested to see how Bendis gets on at D.C. Comics. I don't know if he'll get Batman right away but I am curious to see how he'd do a solo Batman book whether it's Detectives, All-Star or whatever. I kinda like the idea of him being on Green Arrow personally.
I'm surprised no one has asked another very obvious question.
What makes you think he's only writing one book?
I'm sticking with my scoop to Bleeding Cool that Bendis loves Zatanna so that will likely be one of the books he writes. As for other books, yes, I think Shazam would be a nice compliment to a Zatanna book from him (presuming he still loves Zatanna as much as he said he did in 2004).

He's doing something with Snyder.
So, he's probably doing something Batman related.
Batman seems to be an obvious character for Bendis. Personally, I'd like to see a Bendis Question series. Mixing Tot, Vic, and Renee up in Bendis style.
And for the cheap laugh, Hawkman or Power Girl. How messier could their histories get? Yes, I went there.
I think DC is going ease him in with some lower-level books for starters unless this has been in the making for a while, yeah he is a big name, but you don't normally just pull a guy in and give him a big book like say Justice League when there isn't actually an opening there.
