WOW. Did not expect this.
Bendis is very hit or miss for me but Ultimate Spider-Man is still my favorite comic book run of all time. I'm excited/anxious to see what he does
Bendis hates continuity. DC hates continuity. Match made in heaven.
And by "hate" I mean disrespect the sh** out of it.
Being a "Person of Interest" doesn't make you an interesting person.
No one ever said Shadowland was a smart move.
And his post-Shadowland MK had terrible sales and only lasted 12 issues. Bendis is in many a poor mans Johns in being able to revitalize Marvel/DC's C/D-list.
Hey, I'm not reading any of those at present (due to the current "writers" involved), so it wouldn't make any difference to me (since I'm not about to start buying a title just because Bendis is writing it).
If Bendis took over Batgirl or Mother Panic, then I'd be mondo-pissed.

I assume that Bendis was hired to create or revitalize characters for a new market, like Miles Morales or RiRi Williams. I bet that they brought in Benids to help create new audiences and extend the brand, not to just write another Batman. He will probably write some big DC characters but I think Bendis brings with him less traditional hidebound takes on the superhero world.
It's very surreal news to say the least. Bendis had been with Marvel for almost 20 years so it's about as weird when Geoff Johns wrote Avengers years back. I genuinely think there is some good news with Bendis at DC the companies not as event happy as Marvel is so he won't exactly be doing stories that completely change the direction before they're even a year old & I hope DC puts restriction on how many books he should. In terms of our current DC line up I could see him taking over for Suicide Squad, The Hellblazer, or Cyborg since those seem perfect for him (even if I'm the only one who likes the current Suicide Squad) though personally I hope DC just gives him the keys to The Charalton Heroes. Or he could create his own thing in the Dark Matter line.
Characters talking like they are in a sitcom, stories that take forever to get to the action.

I would mind Bendis taking over Birds of Prey I read the last issue it was so bad I could not finish it. What makes it worse is they have every female character of the DC universe available, but with this storyline, I kept getting flashbacks to the Justice Leauge cartoon and they did this storyline way better with just Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl.
