80s for me as well, though the '60s are close enough.

In general every era of Marvel, even the weak ones has some good stuff and great stuff, if you can find it.

I also like Marvel's darker, weirder side from the 70's... Ghost Rider, Tomb of Drac... Son of Satan... the expansion of the Dr. Strange mythos.... so much of that stuff was just so strange and great.

2000's for me, simply because this is the time when I really started reading Marvel before that I was a kid who loved Batman; but when I saw New Avengers with Wolvie I was hooked.

This is going to shock a lot of people here but I really love Marvel from the 60's. By far the most fun I have reading comics

    The 1960's!

There was room for character and power growth, yet the characters were not "Superman-planet busters". There were clear distinctions between the strength and power levels of characters. Characters were portrayed with their same personality even if they appeared in another book or guest-starred.

1980s to early 90s. I feel like that is when comics in general peaked, for both Marvel and DC. So many iconic runs.

That's a good period for sure

There are parts of later eras that are sound too, but for entire lines of books I find it hard to look beyond this

Overall, it would have to be between 80-86. But for the different properties, it would be Outback era X-Men and Avenger: West Coast (Byrne's run) -- even though I hate what he'd done to Wanda in retrospect.

Then it would have to be Heroes Return.

The 80's. So much good stuff was released back then from Miller's Daredevil, to the best years of Spider-man.
The 60's and Marvel Now era of the 10's would be second and third respectively

With you as well, but I'll sneak in the late 90s in there as well since it includes Busiek's run on the Avengers. Yeah, love this era, as I was just getting into comics at the time. I was reminded of how much I love the era when I started to read late 80s/early 90s runs of X-Men and Avengers over these past few weeks. X-titles like X-Men, X-Factor, and the New Mutants really had that quality of "protect a world that hates and fears them" while also having that totally rad aesthetic. Avengers felt like a good episode of G.I. Joe or some other Saturday morning cartoon.
