His getting into it with the avengers when they first considered him for membership and much later with wolverine though Logan does bring out the worst sometimes.

Not to mention them fighting with each other in public proved the Regent's point about superheroes not caring about what happened to ordinary people in the midst of their infighting, to say nothing of what happened later in Secret Empire and its buildup with both HYDRA-Cap and Ultron-Pym lambasting them all for letting their petty self-obsession and egotism get the better of them.

And yes, Alan2099, I would definitely agree with you there; even if Peter did realize in the end that killing off the human race and replacing them with clones was not the answer to his own existential angst, it doesn't change that he still went with the Jackal in the first place. It's kind of ironic, given what would happen just over 20 years later in The Clone Conspiracy, with Ben (as the Jackal) being the one who tried to murder and "reanimate" the world because he couldn't deal with his own existential angst.

Going to theoneandonly's point about Spider-Man's vicious behavior in The Death of Jean DeWolff, there was also the part near the end of that arc where Spidey was perfectly willing to let Stan Carter get ripped apart by a vengeful mob and Daredevil had to call him by (real) name to shock him out of his apathy toward Carter's fate.

All Peter had to do was resign peacefully, but he had to trash the room and force Tony into an armor. Tony would've done all of nothing had Peter stepped down or wanted to focus back on crime solving rather than fighting his friends. And if Peter stepped down, Tony already has the Iron Spider, he will find another operative. If Peter was that uncomfortable and wanted to keep his family safe he had to do almost nothing. This also bleeds into OMD since I doubt Tony is that keen to help somebody who openly turned on him and wrecked part of his home.

Peter never got the option to resign peacefully, because from what I remember, Tony jumped him in full armor as soon as he made his intentions to leave known to Aunt May and Mary Jane, which also indicated (and was later confirmed) that he'd been using the Iron Spider Armor to surveil Peter all along. Not to mention, in light of the atrocities Tony committed during Civil War, Peter's conscience wasn't going to let him just walk away and leave Tony unchallenged. Did he have to go as far as he did in fighting Tony? Maybe not, but a stand had to be taken somewhere.

Tony was very big on going after anyone and everyone that wasn't blatantly bowing down before him and his team and doing exactly what he said. You were either with Tony in Civil War or you were against him. Previous alliances didn't mean anything to the guy.

This has nothing to do with OMD. Stop trying to shoe horn it into every conversation. And really, half the Marvel Universe turned on Tony from his perspective. He's not holding any grudges.

In the original Clone Saga, Peter disposed of the body of his clone (or was it the other way around, bwahaha?) in a rather off-handed fashion. Seemed dickish to me to just toss him into an incinerator. A lot of the clones throughout the years have been treated in dickish ways by non-clones, including Peter.
