Default Planes, Trains and Automobiles 30th anniversary!

Can you believe this hilarious 1987 comedy classic from John Hughes is gonna turn 30 this month! who else remembers growing up with it or seeing it when it first came out or on VHS when it hit video rental stores or on HBO?

I saw this movie in theaters when i was 6 with my mom, dad and 11 year old big brother and we all loved it and became a family favorite we watched every november since then. One of Martin and Candy (RIP)'s best performances and Hughes's best movie.

A classic. We watch it every year on the weekend before Thanksgiving.

    “You’re going the wrong way!”
“He says we’re going the wrong way...”
“He’s drunk! How the hell does he know where we’re going?!?”
“....yeah, yeah! How does he know??”
    "Darkseid...always hated music..."

Every post I make, it should be assumed by the reader that the following statement is attached: "It's all subjective. What works for me doesn't necessarily work for you, and vice versa, and that's ok. You may have a different opinion on it, but this is mine. That's the wonderful thing about being a comics fan, it's all subjective."

One of my favourite comedies of all time. It’s 30 years old? Wow!

Nope. Time flies when you’re getting old.

Along with Kingpin and Midnight Run (can you call that a comedy?) it right up there at the top of my comedy favourites list.

For my family, watching this movie was just as much of a holiday tradition as watching It's a Wonderful Life. It just hits all the right notes.
