Talia and her Dad used to use the pits to keep herself young. And she used the Pit on Jason. Not to mention that Ra's actually used the Pit on her in Batman #335.
Yet in all that research, King couldn't dig up the fact that Talia and Selina have met before.

That does seem to be a huge problem with King. His entire run is littered with such fake events, like Bronze Tiger being a venom addict or Punch working for Bane,he just invents his own history.

Look, some people liked it, some people didn't. Nothing to argue about.
I assure you there are multiple examples of partial nudity in Brubaker/Woods/Pfeifer Catwoman. Hell, in Brubaker's run there was an arc where she was forced to prance around in a slave-Leia outfit.

I wouldn't be arguing, but you specifically stated that Morrison helped "damage" Catwoman, and I just don't think that's true in any capacity. Trust me, a page or so of her drawn to please the male eye every now and then were the least of the character's problems in New 52. You should go back and read her 90's run when she was drawn by a softcore porn artist, now THAT I can understand complaining about.

Yeah. It kinda leads one to wonder if he even read much Batman before taking on writing duties for the title. Maybe that’s why this run seems so lackluster in comparison to his other work.

And also as an aside, yeah he does really seem like he’d rather just tell us something happened than actually show it to us in story. He just told us 237 people were killed and Catwoman was blamed rather than unpacking the events leading up to that in story. He did the same thing during War of Jokes and Riddles. He told us that the struggle ramped up and didn’t show us what really happened. He didn’t show us HOW Deathstroke and Deadshot fought each other for 5 days and nights. He just told us they did and expected us to take it at face value. That, I think, is the main problem with his run. It just comes off as him phoning it in or not wanting to set anything up out of pure laziness, IMO.

Other than Sheriff of Babylon, I haven’t read anything of his that was worth a crap. I tried Grayson, Omega Men, and the first issue of Vision but I jut hate them. I’m trying to understand how people are claiming he’s some kind of great writer because I haven’t seen any evidence of it. He is terrible at dialogue and execution. He may have some cool ideas but if he can’t translate them to the page then they are pretty useless. I read his Batman through the end of Jokes and Riddles hoping it would get better but it just didn’t. I keep getting on these threads hoping to find a glimmer of hope but again, there are either fans that hate him or that seem to not care that he doesn’t make sense and try to justify his writing. I know he wants to do a 100 issue run but I hope that doesn’t happen. I want to read Batman again but I just can’t with him as the writer.

    He is extremely overrated.

I did try Grayson and OM, but dropped them because of how boring and medicore they were.

His Vision was actually enjoyable because his lifeless dialogs fit robots better and thought the story was good enough to read it till the end.

    Great issue

    spoilers:
I like Selina's attitude here...she knows Bruce's childhood vow is greater than the vows they'll (hopefully) exchange and she's prepared to deal with that...also liked that Talia snuggled up to Bruce at the end to tell her she liked Selina.
    end of spoilers

Selina being a world class sword fighter all of a sudden was kind of dumb, but I get what King was trying to do with the sword fight. They needed some extra dialogue where Bruce thanks Talia for taking it easy or not killing Selina and I think it would have worked a bit better. Still, not a fan of the sword fight or how King used Talia overall, Damian not meeting Talia again was a bit of a let down too, but the Dick and Damian moments were good. I know that DC wants to try and downplay Dick's fatherly influence over Damian and just push them as being "brothers" all the time, but I still think Dick is a better father figure/mentor than Bruce is to Damian even though I know Damian idolizes Bruce in a way he would never do with Dick.

Dick his father figure? No. He's a big brother who was around for a very formative time in Damian's life. That's why Damian feels more comfortable being open around him and able to say things like "shut up" or "you're an idiot", it's a pretty cut-and-dry older brother/younger brother relationship.

This wasn't half-bad for me. Selina's self-awareness was appreciated and comes to an obvious but at least logical understanding of what means to be in a relationship with Batman. Not really a fan of the conversation between Dick and Damian though since King seems to be mocking a purposely awkward line... without realizing that he delivers awkward lines every time.

Jones' art continues to impress. Need to see more of her work.

So marrying a woman you love is happiness, but being a hero fighting and bleeding for justice isn't? Then all single superheroes are not happy and should get married immediately.
King's understanding of happiness is so perfunctory.

Great issue. I liked the sword fight and the dialogues between Talia/Selina and Damian/Dick. Batman wasn’t the star of this arc, but still I think my favorite moment was Damian and Bruce’s little interaction. I thought, with the first part, that Rules of Engagement was going to be a disappointing story, but I’m glad to being proved wrong by King and Joelle

    If you are Batman, yes.
