Not necessarily. Rosenberg said 'Phoenix Resurrection' takes place before Astonishing. And we don't know when Red takes place in relation to PR.

I'm guessing Sublime is the villain personally. He's been hinted at orchestrating anti mutant prejudice earlier and it would be quite fitting if the villain who was responsible for killing Jean Grey via Xorn in the Morrison run would be the first adversary Jean faces against after her return.

Do you know in which issue the Sublime-Xorn thing was explained? I think I never really understood what happened with this mess.

    Edit: nevermind, found it.

Hm - I sorta felt like Jean would have been mentioned in Astonishing, but I guess if Charles didn't know she was alive (and we didn't) then it makes sense. Maybe we'll see a reunion with Jean and X later then.

I know this is a bit BS-y, but you could read this scene as Psylocke referencing Adult Jean:

Lemme see if I can find the exact tweet from Rosenberg.

The tweet stating that Astonishing is after PR.

Why? It wouldn't necessarily be contradicting anything?

I wonder if Astonishing is in the same situation that Doomsday Clock is in? Like, Doomsday Clock is ahead of everything else coming out from DC by a year and by the time it was supposed to end everything will have caught up. Only difference is that the different artists and not being 32 pages long means Astonishing comes out every month.

It kind of does though, if Astonishing happens after, and I don't think Betsy would reference Teen Jean over adult Jean. This could've been a clever hint.

    Astonishing X-Men (2017) #1.
This is why I wish editorial would start inserting those little "Set Before" notes again. The timeline is an incredibly confused and muddled mess.
