I'm a little surprised no one has mentioned the Marilyn Manson/Evan Rachel Wood allegations here yet.

What's interesting is that for awhile in the comments of articles regarding similar allegations against stars, you'd see tons of people going, "MeToo is out of control!" This time it's, "Who's surprised by this? Not me!"

I'm not going to be surprised at stuff like this coming out about ANYONE whose girlfriends stay the same age no matter how old they get themselves. I think it's more just a matter of time for most of them.

Eh. I think with Manson, a lot of it is vindication. Manson had “haters” from the “anti-Satanism” crowd ever since he became popular; I remember when I was barely a teenager (mid-90’s) my mom finding out I was listening to one of Manson’s songs and she freeeeeeaaaaaaked out on me. In a twisted way, I feel like some people are happy they were eventually proven right, which is just a sick side-effect of being human.

I think people are slowly acclimating to the idea that the “squeaky wheel needs the grease” so to speak, and that just because some man proudly claims “I am feminist, hear me roar” doesn’t mean he’s quite that friendly.

The Woody Allen deal was always creepy as hell honestly. I know his one adult son has sided with him saying Mia has fed one sister a lot of things in her mind. But it is still creepy as hell once you sit and think about that situation. It shocks me that he still kept working after it. He's made like 28-29 films after it since.

T.I and his wife have 11 women claiming sexual assault against them. He's not gonna be in Antman 3 but apparently they didn't plan on bringing the character back before all this drama. He was funny but Luis the only sidekick that matters imo.

Maybe they weren't going to bring him back earlier due to his inappropriate comments about women. Can't say I'll miss this guy, especially after finding out what kind of guy he really is.

I hope this is the beginning of the end of people in Hollywood, and all industries in general, getting away with sexual crimes just because they're powerful.

I read an article (can't remember where, but it might have been the Guardian) a while back about how the myth of the auteur, the one-man control of the filmmaking process, allows them to get away with this kind of stuff. I semi-agreed with it because, while several auteurs are known to be good to work with, I do think giving too much power to one person in what's really a collaborative process could be problematic.

I wish this were true, but it's really really not gone away. The Old Vic had an 'independent investigation' and found NO ONE in the Old Vic knew what Kevin Spacey was doing. And now the BBC has announced how 'shocked' they are to learn about Noel Clarke, and no-one knew a thing. And the reason I say it's not gone away is NOT that the powerful are still keeping tight lipped... it's that the stars who know it's bullsh*t (RE: nearly all of them) don't call out these false 'shocked to learn' statements. It's all about keeping secrets and not rockin' the boat. I assume the same is true in most other industries too.
