Default Who is not reading Elephantmen?

I feel this is a must read comic, and want to spread the word about how good it is!

Elephantmen and a few IDW books have made me realize I no longer to spend money on anything Mavel. Pick up Elephantmen and see what you think.

I am pretty sure May is Elephantmen awareness month. Or it should be!

I read it for a while then dropped it. It was really interesting but I kind of got tired of the Manga Girl crushing on the Elephant Men and the pacing felt too slow. I like backstory and it was typically well done, but the it would meander a little too slowly for me.

I just finished reading the first trade and enjoyed it. I have the second trade and will read that soon ..... hopefully it continues to be enjoyable.

Maybe it should be, because I've never even heard of it before. What's it about?

It's a book I should have been reading since the beginning, but haven't. It's the right genre for me. But now it's been going on so long i keep putting it off.

It's on my radar, but I feel like I'm too many issues behind already.

Issue 51 is a good jumping on point. The series does reference events from earlier issues, but I never really needed to go back and read most them. I grabbed enough random back issues to get the gist of what's going on. It's not necessarily a book you have to follow from the beginning. Instocktrades has the TPBs at good prices, though.

I'm waaaaay behind (like 20+ issues behind), but I have loved every bit I've read.

I'm not sure if I'll try to catch up or just jump on from #50... >_>

I started at 50 and loved it enough that I went back and got the first three trades. It's worth it for the art alone.

For those of you that don't know, it's about these animal human hybrids that had been bred for war. Now that the war is over, they try living their lives with humans, most of whom see them as some kind of monsters.

I tend to have problems finding single issues. I went to 4 stores in 4 different states before I gave up on finding the most recent issue. Then I met Richard Starkings a couple of weeks ago. We ended up talking for like 15 minutes which I've rarely experienced from any other creators. He gave me the most recent issue that I'd been missing for free and signed two of my trades. On one he drew a huge picture of Hip Flask talking to me. The trades are actually really great quality for the price. And they look good on a bookshelf.

I started a thread in the old forums saying how awesome that book was (and still is).
One of the most underated comic out there that's for sure.
