Which DC mini series is the most desirable to own, or collect? Separate from monthly titles, not story arcs, but separate mini series.

Depends greatly on what you enjoy!
As a Flash & GL fan I enjoyed Mark Waid's Brave & the Bold mini series.
For something a bit different, Jacked was a good read too.
For great Bernie Wrightson artwork, The Cult Batman story is pretty neat too.
Green Lantern Rebirth
The Final Night was a fun mini too
The Longbow Hunters
Dark Knight Returns
Invasion
Justice League: The Nail
There's a lot to choose from!
"My name is Wally West. I'm the fastest man alive!"
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
Well I'm asking YOU, lol. Tell me which one you think is the most desirable to own?
Depends. Are you looking for something to read or to collect?
Who's Who in Star Trek (Who's Who in Legion, also, but it's seven issues)
Legends
Books of Magic
Death: the High Cost of Living
Invasion!

Kingdom Come is the correct answer as it is a 4 issue mini-series and is often voted to be the best DC story of all time. I don't really agree with that assessment but as mini-series' go it's a pretty great one.
I think my favorite mini-series of all time is Mister Miracle and it's only on issue 4 but I think it runs 12 issues (I hope it does!) so maybe it's more a maxi-series.
Here's a pretty random one: BUG! The Adventures of Forager is pretty great.
You can't beat Justice League: The Nail (or its sequel Another Nail for that matter)
The Dark Knight Returns was a 4 issue mini. Bit of a classic there.
My favorite JLA story ever and my favorite comic series ever (which gets a LOT of heat here) was a 7-issue mini-series, Identity Crisis.
What's Invasion about and why the love for it? The other Minis I'm aware of.
It was one of DC's better crossover events of the '80s. The crossover issues weren't required reading and really just expanded on things happening because of the main books.
And the series was only three issues long, with each issue being double-size.
It raised the profile of the Dominators and gave DC an in-universe explanation for where most superpowers came from (the meta-gene).
Basically the 20th Century version of the Dominators and the Khunds (both previously seen in issues of Legion) form an alliance and seek to eradicate the super-powered beings of Earth as they felt superheroes were too much of a threat to their plans of, well, galactic domination.

IIRC, Invasion had 80 page issues
The Dark Knight Returns is the one.
Also the CW crossover event last year was inspired by Invasion.
I think Sword of The Atom is a great addition to any collection.
Longbow Hunters, which was mentioned earlier.
Justice by Krueger and Ross is probably one of my all time favorite JLA stories.
There was a GREAT Shazam mini series in the 80s too.

Let's see, some of my favorite minis:
Anarky #1-#4 by Alan Grant
Arsenal #1-#4 by Devin Grayson
Red Tornado #1-#6 by Kevin VanHook
Sins of Youth by Peter David and Various
and I don't know if it counts as a mini, but better than all of these and IMO, nearly every other DC story:
Legion Lost #1-#12 by Dan Abnett
If your going by value as "collectible" it'd be The Dark Knight Returns.
While not part of the DCU, I think a list like this should include Frank Miller's "Ronin."
