If the mediocre sales figures weren't bad enough, the fact that it won't be at Evo means it's deader'n a doornail.

Good riddance, too. The second Marvel didn't let Capcom put X-Men and FF characters in this game, it was dead to me.

There has been no news about MvCI. In fact, there has been next to no major announcements surrounding this game for months. That seems to indicate that Capcom is cutting their losses. They may still attempt an expansion, but I think that's unlikely at this point. I don't know how much of those losses had to do with the absence of the X-men, probably not as much as most think, but I think games like Injustice just raised the bar too much and MvCI failed to reach it.

Injustice is basically Mortal Kombat so no bar was raised.

As I mentioned before Capcom didn't give a damn because they were busy working on their other properties and I'm not sure what Marvel was expecting by being stingy with their characters.

I hope MVCI management have not lose hope. They just need to improve the graphics and release the next dlc characters with xmen characters and the best characters of capcom specifically:\

Yeah, I read that it's been about 10 years since MvC didn't make an appearance in some form. That's a pretty big deal for Infinite not to make the cut, especially with it being released less than six months ago.
