Sony really about to do their Sinister Six movie. And i wouldnt opposed it cause if for example Spider-man 3 in the MCU comes out it could further help set up Sony's universe.

Unless Marvel Studios says otherwise, Venom, Morbius and any other projects Sony has up their sleeve, are not part of the MCU. Frankly, trying to make it a faux MCU installment and the messy continuity that will spring from that, just seems like a wrong creative decision.

Hope the movie is good, but I'm honestly feeling at this point that the Spider-Verse people are the only ones on the right track with the franchise at Sony and have been since the Raimi movies.

    spoilers:
When the villain from Homecoming pops up and there's a poster of Spider-Man,
end of spoilers it seems we're expected to view this as an MCU installment, albeit one unlikely to impact the narrative of Thor 4 or The Eternals.

Looks like what I would expect from a Morbius film. Don't know if it'll be any good or not, but I think they're in the right direction.
Continuity, even in a "shared" comics universe is often insignificant if not largely detrimental to the quality of a comic.

The image of Spider-man apparently is just an image from Spider-man PS4

    Specifically this one;
    Spider-man PS4.jpg

In a truly odd maneuver they used that instead of an image of Holland. I wasn't under the impression they owned the Holland costume(s) but you'd think that if they couldn't use it they wouldn't even bother. It's hopefully a placeholder but then again what do you honestly need to hold it for unless Spider-man is actually in it and you want to sync it to that? You can just put a generic Spider-man up there.

I think Sony very very badly wants their stuff to be MCU (for obvious reasons). However, until Marvel Studios themselves state that that's the case, they will never be, no matter how many Easter eggs or "sort of" sequels they try to make.

Sony is really gonna push the Sinister Six in the second movie* of their CU franchise ,huh. That surely worked the first time they gave it a try!

*No, I'm not counting the Home movies. Those where never meant to be part of this universe and Sony is shoehorning them.

This gets sketchy when they're bringing in characters from MCU films. That's no longer an Easter Egg.

This seems to be more part of the MCU than the Netflix shows were.

Sony can't make MCU movies, since they don't own the IP rights to it.

This gets complicated, since it depends on the specific deals.

But it seems Sony would be able to cut a deal where they can use Spider-Man characters from the MCU films, and create films set in the same universe, that just won't reference the non-Spider-Man characters (barring some weird crossover.)
    Sincerely,

I wonder if this theoretical deal is gonna get messy for Marvel Studios in the future. Lets Say Sony goes ahead and makes a Sinister 6 movie after the third Holland-man movie and whatever else villain solo that needs to be built up. Lets also say that something Earth-shattering takes place like 70% of NY gets destroyed or there's a massive team/organization formed in response in said movie. How are those events gonna be 'explained' in the MCU if Spider-Man is gonna continue making appearances? Sure, if Morbius or whomever kills a certain character that can easily be ignored but if an event happens that causes untold damage or change that's gonna be tougher to brush aside.

I suspect Sony movies will reference MCU movies, but probably not vice versa, hence why I think the former will not be canon to the MCU, even if they continue Vulture's story in Sony films or something.

People say agents of shield are not canon yet a main guy from that show showed up in captain America 2, Jarvis from agent carter was in endgame and the spare helicarer used in agents of shield found it's way in avengers 2 plus aos tells us where the abomination is something the films never did.
