Thoughts on "New DC Animated Universe"

As you guys know, DC/WB is now building a "DC Original Video Animated Universe" based on The New 52 (and some important storyline of Pre New 52), include "Justice League : War", "Son of Batman" and Aquaman animated movie. (Based on "Throne of Atlantis.")

So... what do you think about it?

The quality is not the same from Timm/Lauren Montgomery times.
weak stories, weak voice actor acting...

Hope they won't stay tied to new 52

Superman: Fine.
Flash: Great.
Lantern: Eh, I think I can get over the laser shoulders.
Wonder Women: Ick. They can't give her pants but they can put her in a dorky looking one-piece. At least there's no gaudy gold.

I didn't like the Flashpoint one at all, but I loved War. I look forward to seeing some more.

I will say, I hate the big-shouldered character designs.

They got off the wrong foot with War and Son of Batman. I mean the former and had the excuse of just adapting the source material, but the latter didn't.

Hopefully Throne of Atlantis is good though.

If you miss the olde DCAU go read Batman Beyond Universe. They're doing a Justice Lords arc and its really good and sad.

I like the idea of it. I just wish that the first couple of movies were better. Although Flashpoint Paradox was pretty good overall. Hopefully, Throne of Atlantis will finally kick things into high gear. That's a fantastic storyline, so don't screw it up.

I liked JL: War as far as storyline went. What I didn't like at all was Wonder Woman's costume and leaving Aquaman out as well.

In my opinion, the whole idea of creating New DCAU is not bad, But the writing of these first movies were not good as what I expected.

But I have a lot of hope on this. Because if this project succeed, maybe they could make Sinestro Corps War, Blackest Night, Night of the Owls, Death of the Famliy, Justice League Dark, Trinity War, New 52 Wonder Woman story arc, Forever Evil or even Rotworld animated film. So Yeah, Hopefully Throne of Atlantis is good though.

Absolutely horrible, and an embarrassment when put beside the real DCAU. Bad voice acting, horrible characterization (Wonder Woman OMG!!!), terrible stories. The list goes on. They ought to just stop making these if things like Justice League: War are what we're going to get. That movie is absolutely mindless and annoying.

I really hate how the producers are acting like the previous DC animated films were part of some other universe, that's the part that really gets me.

I especially hate how the DC animated films are now limited to being adaptions of New 52 stories and not classic stories from the past.
