    Hugh Grant.
He was pretty funny as the Doctor during that Red Nose Day special so I'd be game for that.

Is season 13 streaming anywhere? HBO MAX only has the show up through season 12.

If you have any on-demand services on cable it might still be available on BBC America's listing.

As for Hugh, he was one of the Doctors in the Curse of Fatal Death skit, and was considered for the revival; he also notably played alongside Capaldi in the cult film "Lair of the White Worm."
Wouldn't be the first time Grant was offered the role. His name was tossed around in 95 for the tv movie. Then RTD approached him proper back in 04 for the 05 series to play The Doctor. Both have discussed it and Hugh Grant actually said a part of him regrets not taking it after he saw how well the revival did. He has also worked with RTD since as well.

With Bad Wolf handling production, actors whom many ruled out as unattainable due to the budget restrictions at the BBC are very much in the realm of possibility now. The thing with Hugh is this: would he commit to doing it? With Doctor Who your life becomes consumed by the show for the length you are doing it. Not sure he'd want to be tied down like that for 3 or 4 years.

The ABC here in Australia has it on their streaming/on-demand site. The ABC is our government broadcaster. So it's free to watch on there.

Grant is in his 60's now , he's no longer the young in-demand actor he once was. This would give him one last shot at something long term. If Sony (who own Bad Wolf now) is intent on turning this into a Marvel Films type deal with big plans...Grant could be at the front of something BIG. Its one of those...if he signs on he could kick start something and that would interest him.

Haven't seen that many Grant roles, kind of curious how he'd approach the role.

Although he was sought out for the Ninth I can't really quite see him fitting that part, or being quite as grumpy as some of the older actors to play the Doctor have often been to a degree (Hartnell, Pertwee, Capaldi-at least at first. Although the younger-at the time-Colin Baker kind of was the grumpiest of all).

Maybe something like an older Davison, perhaps.

Perhaps...maybe a dark side ala the McCoy Doctor. The one who will come across as a nice dressed Doctor , but inside he can do some actions that hint at dark side of him.

I would love to see Hugh as a villain, actually, especially since he did such a great job playing an OTT one in Paddington 2. Him as a new version of the Meddling Monk could be fun, or the Celestial Toymaker.

People really only know him for the rom-com stuff he did in the 90s and early 00s. But he was hired to play that exact same role in each film because it worked in Four Weddings.

But Hugh has done increasingly "against type" roles the last 10 years or so such as The Undoing, Florence Foster Jenkins and A Very English Scandal (which RTD wrote). In all those roles his performances have earned him positive to critical acclaim.

If he DID do it. I think he could pull off something amazing.

Well, it helps that he has been doing more television work for both the BBC and various streaming services. So him doing a show such as Doctor Who doesn't concern me. It is the duration. Plus he is 61. Even Capaldi was feeling it by the time he left.

I do agree his casting would send a shockwave signalling that Doctor Who is being taken seriously again. People would immediately switch on just to that alone. Sad to say it, but Doctor Who needs a big name actor now. Another unknown being cast simply won't cut it with audiences now. Not enough to get them to watch. A big name will.
