Maybe Dan Harmon should be the new Doctor Who showrunner because he predicted how all this would end.
That was the gas leak year, without Harmon.

And in that episode they determined that people who were afraid of change had unrealistic expectations of Minerva.

Happens a lot with comics (Claremont's several returns to X-men have none of the impact of his original run for example, Miller's more recent Batman work, ) and some anime too (Tomino's more recent Gundam work for example).
Bryan Singer coming back to X-Men worked okay for Days of Future Past.

Waid's Heroes Return Captain America was solid.

    Didn't help Apocalypse, though

If anything Davies could bring back fans who left during the Chibnall/Moffat eras due to Nostalgia. So that could buy Doctor Who a few more years in ratings.

Elon Musk's Tesla bots look kind of hauntily similar to the android designs (Earthshock, Five Doctors, Caves of Androzani) from the Peter Davison era. https://www.popularmechanics.com/sci...k-tesla-robot/

So I'm guessing Bishop and Gill will probably also leave with Jodie and won't transition to the new Doctor, although some companions have occasionally gone through producer changes here and there.

Wonder if we'll kind of go back to more female companions. Sure RTD had Mickey, Jack and Wilf but they were more recurring characters than long-running companions like Rory, Graham and Ryan.

Also the original series season 17 has been confirmed for blu-ray, and there apparently was a projection of a Sontaran ship to promote the new season.

I think the same. I get the sense that this next run will be it for Yas and I don't think Dan is built to be long term. Could be wrong though on both counts.

As for season 17? I knew Tom would be the next release but why, oh why, did it have to be season 17? I personally would have liked season 13 or 16. The only draw for this is to get the animated Shada in episodic format. That's it.

Also, why spend the FX budget on Nightmare Of Eden? Creature From The Pit or Horns Of Nimon need it more.

City of Death is pretty popular, but yeah it's a bit puzzling why season 13 isn't out yet considering along with seasons 12 and 14 it's considered the golden age of Tom Baker WHO, and possibly the entire classic series in general, even if the plots are a bit derivative of horror movies.

Probably they're deliberately spacing out the gold.

Yeah, I think that's something they did with the DVDs as well. The VHS range ended with some pretty bad (or average) serials in the last batch, with the exception of The Time Meddler, so I think they've been trying to avoid doing that again ever since.

Could be. But I think it also has to do with the remastering process. Why else would a bulk of the releases be from late 70s and all of the 80s? Those are the ones that need the least amount of work. Next is either Season 20 or Pertwee (possibly season 11).

City Of Death is fun, but people assume it is this great serial due to the fact it had high ratings. Pretty easy to get those figures if the other channel is on strike and broadcasting nothing but static. Is what it is, I am more upset they didn't spend the FX budget on stories in that season that needed it more to lift them up. Still Eden does hinge on its effects (they should spread the money out a bit more).

Saw some write up where they theorized some multiversal shenanigans and floating the possibility that Jodie has not been the Doctor of the main universe this entire time. If they Bobby Ewing in the shower this **** I will be greatly annoyed to say the least.

I think The Timless child did infer that the Doctor may not be native to his/her universe.
