It seems kind of interesting that the Gallifrey that "Ruth" Gat and Lee come from seems like it might be more malevolent, almost like the later Time War version. Hence my theory it could be the "Dark times". Also kind of fits into the Master talking about the Fouding Fathers of Gallifrey.

Actually, with time travel you have to wonder just how the Doctor's incarnations even work.

Is there some linear Gallifrey where all of Tom Baker's visits happen before Colin Baker's trial followed at a later point by the Time War and then every interaction with Capaldi's Doctor?
Or is it possible for the current Doctor to use the Tardis to simply visit the "past" and encounter Romana just after she had her adventures with the Fourth Doctor?

It just makes destroying the Time lords seem pointless if they existed for millennia and affected both the past and the future. Even if Gallifrey was destroyed on January 1, 2020 wouldn't it be possible for you to visit them anytime you wanted prior to that date using a TARDIS? Or to encounter a Time Lord who ventured forward from say 2019 to post 2021? And if not how did the Time Lords reach Capaldi's Doctor at the start of his regeneration to grant the new cycle of regenerations or when they erased his memory of Clara in the far far future?

I know "timey-Whimey" is a potential response, but that is not really an answer

You see most people think time is a linear cause and effect when it is really a jumble of........
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Episode Six was... I am not sure, really. Decent support cast and some stunning locations and thank lord not as preachy as Orphan 55. But I dunno. Maybe I am more of a continuity porn dude.

The virus was a tad inconsistent in what it could do - why could it use some humanoid avatars in one location and not bother in the hive?

It seems that the Doctor/TARDIS is sort of "set" to their present version of Gallifrey I think, but even then there are some problems with this, as earlier incarnations show up in The Five Doctors and Day of the Doctor (Strangely, the first and second Doctors seem more worried about being in the Death Zone rather than the fact that they're back home), and we see that Capaldi's Doctor is able to go to a later point in Gallifrey's time in Hell Bent to talk to Me/Ashildr.

I'm not sure how this regime feels about using concepts from Big Finish, but Ruth could be one of the War Valeyard's regenerations. That's one way they could have two Doctors.

watched five and six yesterday. The problems with five have already been mentioned, but I did enjoy it. Number six was well shot, but somehow it failed to move me. I was almost, almost, but not actually bored, though very close to it.

If it was safe enough for Yaz to go back for the device in the last episode. Why didn't they all go back, it would only take two minutes to collect it with the sonic screwdriver.

At least in six, the companions were all busy and yaz seemed slightly policey for once.

Back to the fifth episode, I much preferred Ruth as the Doctor than I did Whittaker. Until it's nailed down who and where Ruth fits in, if I was Whittaker, I'd be worried about my job. I even preferred her Tardis interior, the present one looks fantastic but seems so uninteractive, more of a backdrop than a room.

My wife thinks the present Tardis interior looks like a dead upside down crystal spider, and.... I can't help but see car wheels at the 'joints'.

Yeah I prefer Ruth too. It seems weird they went to all that trouble to create an entire Tardis interior for her if she's not going to be a mainstay. Maybe somehow someway she's AFTER 13? Even if she's not I'd still like to see more of HER adventures. Maybe Big Finish will take care of that if Chibnall doesn't.

Could totally see Big Finish hooking that up

Oh, there's more points than just those two. Mind wipe wouldn't explain how Clara saw every incarnation of the Doctor when she jumped into his time stream and Ruth wasn't there. There's more, but really, there is just no way Ruth is one of the Doctor's incarnations, past or future. She could be a parallel universe Doctor. That's the only thing that makes sense.

So what happened to Amaru, Suki's assistant? We see him get attacked and that's it more or less, he's never seen or mentioned again.

I don't think we really saw all of Clara's adventures, or maybe the Great Intelligence for some reason couldn't attack the pre-Hartnell incarnations, which was where Clara was mostly needed.

I'd buy every audio. I'll eat noodles for a month, I don't care, I just want to see more of her. Big Finish does right by #8, they'll do right by her.
