Curious what's happening in the final picture. Looks like the Doctor seems to be building something out of various bits of junk, something we've seen here and there over the years.

Some sad news, William Hughes who played the young Academy Master in Sound of Drums has died at just 20 years old.

In looking it up , Hughes must have decided against a film career . He only had 2 roles...one in Doctor Who and the other Torchwood in 2008. He never acted again.

It's decent but nothing too special.

Wonder if they're kind of inferring that she might have some kind of time-freezing (or speeding) ability, or maybe I'm just looking into it too much. Kind of like that weird 3D trailer with the monsters floating around in bubbles and a giant Silurian mask.

Wouldn't be the first time though. Apart from of course regeneration and the respiratory bypass system, we've seen the Doctor occasionally show other skills.

    A few examples:

    -Mind melding/telepathy in both series.
-The Seventh Doctor seemed to be able to 'sense' a people's well-being with a simple touch, and stun a man with a finger. Although maybe that's an extension of his telepathy or Venusian akido.
-Various time-related abilities such as being able to feel shifts in the timeline, or like in City of Death and The Lodger where he was able to stay out of the time loops since he was himself out of sync.
-Also ability to see the future, like in "Kill the Moon". Also sort of demonstrated in the TV movie although it's also probable he knew about Grace, Chang and Gareth simply by knowing about them before.
-That weird glass-shattering scream he did in Power of Kroll.
-Some ocassions of super strength like in the TV movie where he was able to pretty much smash open the morgue door. Although that might just be some weird post-regeneration thing.

Oh yeah, and Missy I think did something similar too, although she had mechanical help.

I kind of hoped the companions would say something; still don’t know what bradley walsh sounds like.

Food-centric trailer, eh? Or some kind of temporal wish fulfillment? Not much to go on but I'm still awaiting the new season far more eagerly than the last season. I just wish the Doctor would change out of that 'little girl on a field trip' outfit.
