If it doesn't work on screen they'll change it. Troughton started off with a stove-pipe hat - they ditched that within a couple of stories. I think these days they struggle a bit with balancing the Doctor's famously eccentric nature with the idea that he/she has to look cool.

No doubt it'll evolve over time. So not too fused. The coat is cool. Suspenders aren't bad. It is very simple and thrown together. Which is very Who-ish. Maybe they want to evoke Mork? Could be an indicator for how Jodie intends to portray the doctor. Either way, the clothes matter little in the grand scheme of things (Unless you are the sixth doctor. In which case it matters very much lol.)

I think this could probably have the Doctor up-and-running (although still sorting out things like persona and wardrobe) like with Moffat's/Smith's debut, and not somewhat out of it as he was for a fair chunk of Tennant and Capaldi's debuts, in which the producer was already established.

Ohh nice! I have 6 or so of the Target books, but am yet to read them as I have a bunch of NSA books waiting, plus 100 other books
Important question for everybody; if you could go for a drink or a coffee with any character from Doctor Who (excluding The Doctor if possible!), who would it be and why?
For me, it would be Strax, I just feel like we would get on very well. Plus, aint nobody going to mess with him

The Targets were pretty interesting. While a lot of them were mostly transcripts quite a few added some extra background to the characters-the "Rememberance of the Daleks" in particular pretty much got much of the NA's storyline about the Doctor possibly being a reincarnated Time lord founding father started even more so than the TV version. Curse of Fenric in particular also gave some interesting backstory on some of the characters such as Millington.
