Wonder if this will be post-mindwipe Donna or from her travelling days.

I'm a bit concerned that the anniversary is going to overshadow Ncuti's debut, or maybe this will be something like Matt Smith's thing in Deep Breath, to help ease the transition somehow?

RTD is implying it's more than just an 'offscreen adventure' with Tennant and Tate. If you read the article, he says it could be 'anything', an alternate timeline, a dream, a trick etc. Donna's mindwipe is also brought up in the article

The leaks from earlier in the year said Tennant would take over again in between Jodie and Ncuti, and it will resolve Donna's mindwipe.

It'd be kind of weird to technically have the Doctor regenerate into Tennant three times over (Remember Stolen Earth? Also 11 said that counted as 'a life' in Time of the Doctor), although I suppose it could be possible (Implied by the curator).


It could *also* possibly be Rose's human Doctor, but since we're getting Donna instead of Rose it doesn't make much sense, unless it's Donna's counterpart from Pete's world.


Wonder if they'll address him looking different. There's the "Time differential" explanation in Time Crash which sort of explained that....(and if this is post-mindwipe Donna it's just natural human aging; then again we've had a visibly older Jaime in two Doctors without explanation...)

It's more likely Ncuti isn't filming anything until 2023 and that we're getting Tennant as an incumbent. The reddit leaker was spot on about everything included in Jodie's final special, and he's probably right here. Tennant is the next Doctor, he reunites with Donna for an adventure that resolves their relationship, then it's Ncuti.

So excited and happy! Season 4 could easily be considered the high point of New Who so having the Tenth Doctor and Donna back if only for a single new adventure is going to be awesome. I also wonder if this is part of a larger plan for a range of stories with the older Doctors, given that rumours have suggested that RTD is planning full appearances for 9-12 for the 60th.

I hope not. It feels unnecessary and I don't know if you gain a while lot from it. Casual audiences wouldn't care and fans of those eras would feel insulted.
