Looks like Mass Effect armor to me.
Always liked New X-men best, and Phoenix costumes.
But always had a soft spot for X-factor forever and it's subtle X

Jean usually has had pretty good luck with costume design, her looks tend to be simple but elegant and manage to be sexy without being vulgar, which so many characters have had trouble with.
I don't hate her costume but I do wonder how a couple of decisions were arrived at.
I said in another thread I'm not a color expert but the blue/red combo seems like a strange chooce for an artist to make without some neutral accent colors. The point is even stronger given she has read hair.
That being said, I don't mind all that much. It's just a costume. But I'd definitely like to ask a professional artist (the designer) why they choose the color combo. Out of curiosity.
Your favorite superhero- the one you visit these forums to talk about. Would they talk to others the way you do on this message board?
All about it. This is my favorite Jean Grey look outside of Cockrum's Phoenix design.
Dan Panosian knocked it outta the park with his X-Factor Forever design.
Plays homage to a number of different previous looks and moves the design forward...
Black and Gold of the O5 uniforms
Neckline and (glam)glove length from Original Marvel Girl
Pendant belt gives a subtle X and mimics the line of the Phoenix sash
Leather pants and boots call back to both her Go-Go boots of Marvel Girl and the utilitarian look of Quitely's New X-Men era.
This is what a model-superhero would wear.

I think my favourite Jean costume was the variant of the Phoenix one she wore after Scott got eaten by Apocalypse.
This is a design critique and assessment I can get behind. Bravo.
Give this look the Quitely NXM boots, some half palm gloves, and somehow incorporate the Phoenix symbol. Though I guess the decision to include the Phoenix symbol in Jean Grey costuming is a touchy and complicated subject.
The new "Red" costume armor reminds me of...
Jean Grey's 90s Jim Lee designed suit (obvi)
Carol Danvers Warbird padded armor look
and an SUV
NONE of them "in a good way" :-(
I just don't get the armor part of it. It feels like this a special mission costume rather than her day to day uniform. I can live with the colors I guess, but yeah not the best choice.
I wish she could keep her New X-Men costume or a variation of that.
That IS better. I'm usually of a mind that an iffy design can be saved by better color choices but on this one...I got nothing. And I've been playing with it. White instead of red, gold instead of blue armor? Darker red? Black armor? I actually think the blue/purple is a bigger issue than the red. But they DO need to be less in the same saturation to be less...BLAND.
If it were a special mission look or a containment suit I could give it a sorta pass. Its too clunky to be Jean appropriate.
This one? I could never get behind the arm wrappings or the clunky boots. But still not the worst thing ever
