John Wick vs. Link (TLOZ: Breath of the Wild)

The Yiga clan, wanting to get revenge for Link's defeat of Calamity Ganon, but unable to beat him themselves, hires some sorcerers to summon John Wick from his Earth as of a few minutes after the end of John Wick 2. The Yiga clan tells him that they can make all of his problems go away if he does one simple thing for them: assassinate the Champion of Princess Zelda, Link. He's to also kill Princess Zelda as a secondary objective but his primary objective is to kill Link. John Wick gets his standard equipment with five extra clips of ammunition plus a sniper rifle with two extra clips of ammo. Link gets all of his equipment and items from BoTW, a maxed out Stamina Bar and Hearts, plus a fully awakened Master Sword. Link knows that an assassin is looking for him but he does not know who it is, but he is on guard.

Scenario 1: Link has all of the Champions' Gifts.

Scenario 2: Link does not have the Champions' Gifts.

Can John Wick manage to kill Link?

If Wick is far enough from Link and uses his sniper rifle, there is NOTHING that Link has that will protect him from getting shot in the n*ts or in the face. Given how fast sniper rounds travel, there would be no way that Link could get up his guard fast enough for Daruk's Protection to trigger.

You assume getting shot in the face would do more than a dozen hearts to him. I mean like the Links before him, this IS a guy who could go for a Lava bath and only lose a heart.

I'm also pretty sure that the general wilderness and natural hazards of BotW Hyrule will kill John before he can properly set things up.

Maxed Link is a freak. A bazooka would hardly slow him down, let alone bullets.

Also why would John get the advantage in setting up ambushes? Link is not only on home turf but can teleport at Will (granted only to specific locations, but post-game there's like 150 of them).

His face is still exposed, though. Even with his most powerful (canon) armor and gear/shield in that game, the only way he can survive a bullet to his face (given how fast sniper rounds travel) is if he already knows where the sniper is. Not to mention that his reaction speeds would have to be high enough to either block the round with his shield, or trigger Daruk's Protectiion before the bullet even reaches him.

John has GUNS.

Stuff like GUNS are way beyond anything that the BOTW (grunt) monsters can reasonably defend themselves against.

This is not a good argument. The stuff in BOTW is way beyond bullet proof. Even when they don't have armor (bokoblins).

Link is strong enough to shove around boulders larger than a car. So he can swing his sword with a lot of oomph. Using Stasis on a boulder is a good example. It freezes the boulder but stores up the kinetic energy of each sword swing. With only 4 or 5 swings from a one handed sword, Link can send those enormous boulders soaring dozens of feet. Or further.

It takes an awful lot of sword swings to put down a mid level creature or higher in BOTW. The world they live in allows for absurd durability. You can ping pong silver level enemies all around the environment with your rune bombs or other exolosives and they are mostly ok.

Same goes for Link. His face may be exposed, but it gets enveloped all the same by explosives your enemies use on you. 1/4 or 1/2 a heart lost. Dudes a Tank.

Shot by giant laser beams capable of ripping trees apart and making giant explosions is a bit more impressive than a sniper.

Besides, we have no idea how many hearts Link had in that era. But we do know he only had low level champions tunic for protection. And there were still a mountain of Guardian corpses that he left in his wake before falling.

In full Ancient Armor it takes a really long time for those same giant lasers to finish Link off. I could upload a video lol :P

He can't walk through it, but he CAN jump in it. Half-a-heart.

Yeah, guns aren't a magical insta-kill-all-fantasy-characters weapon. If we're sporting Link even part of the durability he usually has in the games (which the board have allowed for before for other video game characters like Travis Touchdown), Wick's not one-shotting him.
