Well, we could just call it a Bronze Age story with Silver Age mentality, or just say

Yeah, they did that before in The Autobiography of Bruce Wayne, which is a Bronze Age comic BUT when Bruce Wayne was telling his story about how he and Catwoman got married, Bruce set it in the Golden Age

That's a really good story as well for those who are interested.

God damn that is painful to read.

And yet like an addict I will buy it.

And how is Superman even communicating?

And why is Lois using the office phone? For nonwork related activities? She would call him on her cell.

But bringing this back to the topic of the thread. Superman now knows so how do you think his reaction is really going to be? Any guesses?

We have yet to see Bruce make an announcement or anything or even tell ANYONE.

Is KING afraid to write that scene?

Not even a panel with a newspaper or laptop open to the society pages announcing BRUCE and Selina engagement

“Billionaire Engaged to Cat Burglar” see page 7a

We might see it addressed once Selina is officially cleared of the murders after Holly turns herself in.

I wouldn't be surprised if that leads to Selina's records getting expunged, or Bruce uses his resources to do so, and makes it difficult for the press to connect Selina Kyle back to Catwoman again.

Granted, I also think King is the type who probably wouldn't deal with the public or social reaction to the engagement that much.

It’s definitely a tricky situation ..... in story.

So many contingincies have to be checked, both to make sense and plausible. And King is very busy. The editors are very busy.

It’s not something you can just wing it and on to next months comics.

I think King is writing the "Batman" part of the engagement first; meaning how this engagement affects his Batman world. Once all of that is taken care of THEN he will announce the engagement and present Selina to his "Bruce Wayne" world. The tabloids, the paparazzi, the news media about Bruce Wayne marrying former "Catwoman".

So this isn't that tricky. He's going to make sure his Bat folks know first THEN Gotham will find out later. It makes complete sense.

The only thing is, will Selina Kyle be her public persona and then Catwoman has to be retreated to the night shadows because it's public now that Selina Kyle is Catwoman. Or will it just be that Bruce Wayne is married to "villain turned hero Catwoman"?

Supes and Wondey will do that. If the JL doesn't already know.

I'm sure they will but that just lends weight to Nick's question.

I feel like Selina would either have to stop being Catwoman or pretend she isn't anymore (or ever was) if she wants to still prowl rooftops, because it would probably compromise Bruce's identity otherwise.

Or maybe she needs a new secret identity?
