    If not, I'm afraid I laugh AT thee. Only a wee bit, tho

    Currently, the Shazamverse wouldn't even be in the top 7, let alone the top 4.

    The Big 6 plus the Arrowverse (Green Arrow) have long since surpassed them in overall relevance at DC. That may change with the future movie's release, if it's a success. But until then ... nope.

    Can't be a pillar if you don't even have an ongoing title.

    Oh goodness, Captain Comet, Witchfire, Black Canary *and* Hawkgirl? I love it!

    Captain Comet is definitely underused, and would rock in a Superman-like position as 'big gun,' ditto Mr. Terrific in a Batman-esque role.

    And Witchfire, wow, very much an out of the box pick for team mystic, when so many others would have gone with Zatanna, or even Dr. Fate.

    OK, given how easy these good rosters have been for y'all so far, let's up the ante going forward.

    1. Not only are any and all Big Six DC Franchise Characters still off the table

    2. But now, so are any and all DC characters from the Arrowverse, Shazamverse, Hawkverse, and Martianverse.

    Green Arrow, Black Canary, Red Arrow / Arsenal / Speedy, Arrowette, Artemis Crock, Connor Hawke, Billy Batson, Mary Batson, Lt. Marvels, the Wizard, Black Adam, Isis, Osirus, Carter Hall, Katar Hol, Shayera Thal, Kendra Saunders, J'onn J'onzz, M'gann, and anyone else associated with those 4 franchises are now gone from consideration.

    3. Maximum Roster is 7 members.

    4. Justify each member's role by way of either unique power/skill-set and/or unique personality

    Me first:

    Vixen = leader
    Cyborg = technologist
    Raven = magic-user
    Plastic Man = adaptability
    Starfire = energy projection
    Mister Miracle = stealth
    Big Barda = powerhouse

    Yours (if your first crack didn't already meet these new criteria)?

    Thank You. Did you know that Marvel has their own Witchfire? twentyish red headed female magic user, too!

    Actually post big 7 founders, everyone next in the order they joined, would make a great Non-Big 7 JL team:

    (1961) Green Arrow Justice League of America #4
    (1962) Atom Justice League of America #14
    (1964) Hawkman Justice League of America #31
    (1969) Black Canary Justice League of America #74
    (1973) Elongated Man & Red Tornado Justice League of America #105-#106
    (1977) Hawkgirl Justice League of America #146
    (1978) Zatanna Justice League of America #161
    (1979) Black Lightning* Justice League of America #173 *although he hadn't joined at the time in the 80s he was the next to join in the JL newspaper strip.

    Shaking my original team up just a bit:

    1. Black Lightning - leader, down-to-earth type
    2. Nightshade - reserved professional type
    3. Booster Gold - fun-loving comedic personality
    4. Metamorpho - Gruff, jaded outcast type
    5. Vixen - Inspirational, big picture type
    6. Jason Blood/Etrigan - Dark moody temperamental type
    7. Inferno - Young enthusiastic personality

    Does Cosmic Boy count as part of the Super-Verse? I feel like you could argue that the whole Legion is without much trouble.

    I'll go with

    • J'onn J'onzz
    • Captain Marvel
    • Doctor Fate
    • Mr. Terrific
    • Cyborg
    • Stargirl
    • Vixen

    Also, this is the first and probably only time I've got cause to be glad that Captain Marvel is consistently treated as a C-Lister. Boo! Make Mine Shazam!

    Love this post! The very end of it though... How do I find such a newspaper strip? Is it available anywhere? I'm a JL(A) completist and don't know it!

    EDITED: Because google can be helpful too and I found it but thanks so much for alerting me to it!

    My team definitely takes on more of the street-level, mid-tier metahuman or Bondian threats.

    This is a toughy. Based on the No Big 6 and No Arrowverse Stuff (alas poor Ragman, Elongated Man etc...) I think this works.

    Tomorrow Woman- Team Leader/organizer psychic linker for the team
    Kid Eternity- Magic/Summoning expertise
    Element Woman (Emily Sung)- Adaptability/Stealth/Survival
    Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes)- Technology/Alien awareness
    Booster Gold (Michael Jon Carter)- time travel defense
    Shining Knight Sir Justin- Anti-Monster expert
    Triumph (William McIntyre)- Field Leader/Physical Powerhouse
