If Priest is already almost 30 issues deep into Deathstroke, who couldn't hold out that long in his last two volumes, and they were willing to give Hitch about that long despite a lack of direction and coordination with artists amid heavy criticism, I think it looks good for the former.

Ideally, I hope you're right. Just doesn't sound or feel like that just yet. Even if the plan was ultimately to give it to someone else later, I hope Priest's run is so well received that taking him off would be a hard sell. Either that or this earns (as if he already hasn't earned it) him a spot on Superman. At that point, he could do a crossover with Deathstroke every other arc and he'd still always have my money. Not even remotely kidding.

I will say that as someone who struggles with the League (my approach is usually to stay away until Giffen and co. tell me it's safe to laugh again) I'm pretty excited that this is happening. If the comics are as exciting as the preview shows, then people get to buy the book in good numbers and let DC know that that's how it should be done.

Priest landing Superman... now that's where I feel it's too much, like slam dunking during a backflip. I would pay good money for it to happen, and even more money if actually did happen, but I'm note sure about turning my hopes up that high until we get the hint of something new being announced.

hopefully Mr. Priest will last 4+ years on Justice League and he'll get to guide the company-wide crossovers for a change.

Personally I'm rooting for a 6ish month run; still the equivalent of a year, ends in summer for Snyder or Bendis to take over, and while I loved the first issue and absolutely want Priest to play out his whole story I have a hard time envisoning this sort of take as the status quo for the main book for years on end. To be clear, I'd still prefer years of this nearly anything else, Bendis included, but Snyder seems in the cards and he's ideal for the book. Feel free to move Priest onto Superman after that though.
    Buh-bye
