    Default Beware of Vampironica!

A new addition to the Archie Horror line arrives in March 2018----Vampironica!

    From Bleeding Cool:

Vampironica is getting her own ongoing comic book from Archie Comics in 2018. As revealed in an EXCLUSIVE interview at iO9, the brother and sister team of Greg and Megan Smallwood will bring the character to life in the pages of her own ongoing, lettered by Jack Morelli. Just how ongoing it will be remains to be seen. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has about an average of 1.5 issues per year, so hopefully Vampironica will come out on a quicker schedule (though that’s a low bar).

    The premise is simple:

Riverdale socialite Veronica Lodge encounters a centuries-old creature of the night, who transforms her into a bloodthirsty vampire who must descend on her unsuspecting hometown to satiate her newfound hunger.
    Variant cover by Audrey Mok

If I had any faith left in the Archie horror line I might be interested, but I don't. They've mismanaged that line to death.

Archie have shown little commitment to their line of comics. I don't see why I should show any interest when they don't.

At the risk of being naive, even after being burned by Sabrina and Afterlife With Archie, I’m willing to give this book a try.

I'm all in for this!! I love the horror themed Archie books! However, maybe they should regularize the release of new issues for "Afterlife with Archie" and "Sabrina" before staring a new series along with "Jughead: The Hunger"...

Here's an example of Smallwood's art from when he was on Moon Knight:

Not bad. Seems to repeat faces though. That female's face is a bit similar to the male next to her.

    Hopefully, his cheesecake is fresher.

This is the regular cover for Vampironica #1 by him:

Looks perfect for this story. An interview with the Smallwoods:

I find myself wondering if they are expanding the horror line in also an attempu to find new talent for Sabrina and Afterlife. Those books are brilliant and if The Hunger and Vampironica break out maybe they can gove Afterlife and Chilling more consistent releases.
