Because Nicky Fury doesn't seem like the kinda guy whose gonna be cool with a 16-17 year old kid calling him Nick.

Constantly annoyed works, too. Of course, when you constantly sigh and grumble about being annoyed, then thats a bit whiney. Potato, potato. It was done to make Peter seem more like a teenager, because teenagers have to annoy adults to be more credible as teenagers. Very Disney-esque and cliche approach. But whatever, i still enjoyed the movie.

Honestly, I think MCU Peter is probably the most like a "kid" Spider-Man has ever been, especially when it comes to needing so much adult supervision.

For some of us, that's the only version we know.

If I recall correctly, there was a deleted Avengers scene showing Hill being debriefed by S.H.I.E.LD. and essentially blaming Fury and his Avenger Initiative project, sounding like it was going for a more comics-inspired interaction. On the other hand, there was also a deleted subplot of Hill having a secret assignment to spy on Fury for the Wold Security Council, although one ended with Hill turning her back on the assignment when Fury earned her total loyalty over the course of the film. In any event, this stuff must've been changed relatively early in filming; the junior novelization of The Avengers had bit where Fury notes that Hill and Phil Coulson are the only two people he would trust his life to.

So between this and Captain Marvel Samuel L. Fury will have valuable roles in two movies next year. I wonder how long will his role be in the movie that ends Phase 3.

Oh yah, this is the first really young-feeling Spider-Man. He even did kid things that belied a true type of innocence. Very cool to see!

The "not Mary Jane" MJ thing is still really stupid, IMO.

Maybe we should just ignore the nickname throwaway line and take the character on her own terms?

If Michelle takes up acting, she'll probably pick Mary Jane as a stage name

Nothing we've seen of the character so far leaves me to believe she'd be interested in acting.
