I know it is "realistic," but it is very inefficient writing, and leaves the audience confused rather than communicating.

And honestly, if the character refuses to grow, then why the hell would I want to watch them?

It's fun seeing Jessica be a dick to people. I really liked her relationship with the super when they hated each other.

I did as well. I also like seeing Jessica interact with kids like Vido.

Yes! I forgot about this, since it's the one connection to the comics character that the show fixed from last season, where Jessica was pretty hostile to kids in general.

I don't think the idea is that she will never grow up.. but I think it's just a slow journey that they don't want to rush too. Her growing up is basically her story. And I don't think they necessarily intend for Jessica Jones to be a one or even two season show.

I think comics gives us a good indication of end game for Jessica Jones. Not that the shows necessarily have to follow the comics, but we have a glimpse at the end of the tunnel... Jessica marrying Cage and becoming a wife and mother. The question really is just how quickly they want to get her there... and I think the obvious answer is not very. I think both Luke and Jessica have a lot of story to tell before they want to get them to that point. She almost certainly WILL grow up... but it's more a marathon than a sprint.

I haven't finished the season (I'm on episode 11. Almost there!), I've largely liked this season -- each cliffhanger does its job to make the show more bingeworthy. I also like that the show doesn't seem to dwell as much and so Jessica has more to do, though yes, sometimes it feels as if "more to do" means running around like a headless chicken.

But one thing that stands out for me -- the season was all helmed by women directors, and obviously there's more emphasis on Trish and then mother/daughter themes, but I'm greatly enjoying Malcolm this season. Yeah, it doesn't hurt that he has a much bigger and more active role than last season, but the entire crew seems to be working really well in fleshing him out. To me he's one of the breakthroughs of the season, and I feel like the strong female presence of the show compared to last season (and there was certainly a lot of that last season) really helped his character out, too. Malcolm by episode 10 is different than Malcolm from episode 1 of this season, for sure.

Jessica is devoid of charm. I was more interested in the side stories.

I really hated season 1, so I was surprised by how much I enjoyed season 2. I liked that it spent more time showiing her skils as an investigator, and that her inner monologue had some sharp insight and funny dialogue, instead of last season's rambling doom porn by way of Marlow pastiche. The lack of an actual bad guy was interesting too, although I guess this year could count as Jerri's descent into darkness.

Everyone was the bad guy! Trish! Jessica! Jeri! Even Malcolm, to some extent!

    saw 2 eps, meh.

The story about finding out who tested stuff on her and gave her powers while one of the other test subjects runs wild is pretty generic.

one thing i do hate is jeri being told something by the doctor but we arent so we get all these scenes or her acting stupid apparent because what she is told but we arent told so the scenes lose meaning. How sick is she? We dont know. We dont even know a vague idea of what it is im sitting there like... ok she feels bad and stuff... now what?

Yeah, the storytelling on the first episode with Jeri was really padded.
