Yep, that was my first thought, too. But hopefully, that doesn't automatically mean we'll never get an XML3, either. Wouldn't think that's too much to ask for, as it wouldn't seem like too much trouble for 'em to do, in this day & age. And it will come as no surprise, that my roster for starters, MUST INCLUDE:

XML3 wont happen. The game only has a chance of being a thing if Marvel were to partner up with Activision again and thats really the last thing they should do after finally getting out from under their control. Even if they were, a sequel to XML2 is highly unlikely

Probably. Perhaps just a spiritual successor, then, for some nostalgic fun & kicks. At least so we might FINALLY get the opportunity to play as some never-before-included fan favorites, in an unofficial BIG, last hurrah, of sorts. A reward for being denied & going without such things, or even the prospect of them, for SO long.

Honestly, I'm so damn excited about what the acquisition of X-Men rights could mean in terms of Marvel partnering with a big company like Naughty Dog, EA, Bethesda etc. to produce a huge and captivating X-Men game that pays homage to the X-Men lore- obvs there's years and years of developed characters, stories & locations to tap into, and some really cool powers that'd be fun to play with. Doing it right would be hard, but just imagine the execution. I'd die. Until then, I'd happily take XML3 to keep me entertained

Honestly an X-Men game by Bioware styled after Dragon Age or Mass Effect would be really nice, and could be seen as a spiritual successor to this.
