So I've been contemplating...

...having Totoma's creation and overuse of that "destroy ki capability in person" technique as a child have side-effects.

Like having a (low) hard cap on his PL that will eventually render him useless, breaking or half-breaking most of his Saiyan abilities, and making continued ki usage cause his life energy to seep out more and more.

And the only way to overcome this is by tapping into that life energy. Basically... if he wants to be useful, he will burn out and die (painfully, likely) in probably a year or so.

Held will learn unicorn techs to unnaturally prolong life, and also absorb life energy.

Half of the game will be Held keeping Totoma animated, and using his life energy to become even stronger.

It's a win/win for both of them. Held gets stronger, Totoma gets to live in agony, which maybe makes Karine less miserable than if he were dead.
