I didn't realize we were talking about Held, but I am okay with this.

They will discuss the true nature of striking swiftly and penetrating deeply.

It'd also be nice to have further insight into Battersea's technique, which is something Ochazuke is trying to figure out. IIRC Held went into the melee.

But, otherwise he'll have to cobble together a haphazard plan B.
